Up the winding mountain road to the church square and the top of the village of Montorlin, and a beautiful old farmhouse owned and run by Liza and Andy as a catered ski chalet.

Alastair Sawday's Guides have featured this lovely place in The Guardian as one of 10 chalets to treat yourself to this winter.

The stunning top floor features an open plan living and dining area, with amazing views up and down the Tarentaise valley across to the distant peaks of Mont Blanc. Balconies open off 2 sides of the house from picture windows. The airy living room has huge, squashy sofas, a log fire and an extensive library. Wifi, playstation, DVDs and CDs provide the modern entertainment.

Skiing holidays
You can expect to be looked after by us before as well as during your holiday. Pre-arrival services include arranging ski lessons, ski hire and lift passes. In resort, our chalet hosts welcome you and cook and clean, and Liza and Andy provide the shuttle service to the telecabine.
Bed and Breakfast
Expect a warm welcome, and a great home cooked breakfast. Optional evening meals are often available too (at an additional cost). Andy and Liza have lots of information about the local area and activities to share with you.

The location is amazing providing stunning views from the chalet. The chalet is very comfortable.Owners Andy and Liza couldn't do more to help you make the most of your stay. Chalet hosts Tom and Charlotte fed and looked after us exceptionally well. The resort offers amazing skiing for all abilities. Highly recommend for a very relaxing stay.

I don’t normally do reviews, but for this chalet I had to make an exception. What better way to start your day than breakfast with a view of the mountains and the sun just hitting the top of Mont Blanc. Tremendous. Nothing too much trouble. The house has 6 bedrooms on the ground and first floors: three double rooms, two twins, and one family suite with two interconnecting bedrooms. The main room of the suite has a romantic four poster bed; the children's room next door has full length bunk beds. On the first floor one of the twin rooms has the traditional built in wooden curtained beds, which children (and adults!) adore.
Every room has a hairdryer, big fluffy towels and super-efficient radiators; and a jar of smarties by the bed.

About the neighbourhood
MONTCHAVIN - LA PLAGNE - PARADISKI

We are in the heart of the Paradiski skiing domain: 4km of pistes, 2 equipped glaciers, and runs to suit all abilities. Our side of the valley, La Plagne, has over 224km of pistes and 10 resort villages: we are located at Montchavin.
Montchavin was originally a farming village and has charming cobbled streets, old stone buildings, and apple orchards. One chair lift takes you to the Vanoise Express cable car crossing the valley to Les Arcs: so guests can ski each side of the mountain easily. It's a wonderfully friendly place with some great restaurants and bars.

Our private minibus is available to shuttle you to and from the telecabine in resort.
Airport and train station transfers can be arranged.
Summer
Guests arrive by car, on motorbikes, road or mountain bike, or on foot! We're on the Route de Grande Alpes (road) and the GR5 walking trail, both taking you via the scenic routes from Geneva to Nice.

Railway: Bourg Saint Maurice: 13.0 km
Ferry: Calais: 970.0 km
Fly, drive or take the train almost to the front door.

Flights: our nearest airports are Chambery (100kms); Geneva (140kms); Lyon (200kms) and Grenoble (180kms). We can arrange the airport transfers too: ask us for a quote.

Drive: it takes about 10 hours from Calais, mostly on major (toll) roads. There is plentiful free parking around the chalet.

Train: take the Eurostar from London St Pancreas direct to Bourg Saint Maurice, where we will meet you with our minibus. The service runs on Fridays and Saturdays, either overnight or during the day. Visit the Eurostar website.
