Our apartment was part of a historic village on a large estate that included two lakes, hiking paths and farmland. The apartment was decorated in classic Italian furniture and antiques and was very roomy. The ground were spacious with panoramic views of the Umbrian countryside. We had wine there every evening just to enjoy the ambiance. The property owner, Lorenzo, was very hospitable and helpful. He was also very interesting because he is a count whose family has owned this extensive property for 800 years. One of his ancestors was a pope! He was very hospitable and even gave us a tour of his palazzo which was beautifully furnished and had great frescos and artwork. He even served us wine and we had a lengthy conversation with him. We ourselves have bought a small vacation home nearby so we won't need to stay there any longer. However, we hope to have our family and friends to visit us and stay at this wonderful property.
