Loved the location so close to the medieval city and all its restaurants, shops, markets, attractions. It was easy to find free parking close by in the Sundhouse lot. The Sarlat Townhouse was centrally located in the town with easy access to all parts. Sarlat is also very well located for visiting the numerous small and beautiful villages in the Dordogne. About the neighbourhood
Sarlat is the finest example of a Medieval walled town in France. With it's carefully preserved buildings, Sarlat is a wonderful place to explore. Amongst it's pretty cobbled streets and alleyways with their small arched passgeways, you will find ancient half timbered, turreted and gabled stone buildings. On the towns pretty narrow streets sit, numerous cafés, restaurants and shops selling all types of local delicacies. Saturday and Wednesday mornings the famous Sarlat market is held. Where you can enjoy the sights, smells and tastes of locally produced foods . Popular activities are canoeing, cycling and walking or for those long lazy days of summer you simply spend the day swimming or sunbathing one the river's many pebbled beaches.
