Location - perfect. Very relaxing and chilling. Brilliant cycling. Loads to see in the area, could have spent weeks there and there was still plenty to see Accommodation - beautiful, immaculate, well equipped. The grounds were perfect.

Set in beautiful grounds, partly wooded, with a pool and opportunities to rent bikes and canoes. Grape Cottage has its own decking balcony...

About the neighbourhood
Sarlat is a few kilometres north of the River Dordogne. It is a medieval town that developed around a large Benedictine abbey of Carolingian origin.

Because modern history has largely passed it by, Sarlat has remained preserved and one of the towns most representative of 14th century France. The centre of the old town consists of impeccably restored stone buildings and is largely car-free.

Sarlat is a pleasure to walk around, especially during... more
