Enjoy a stay at La Lezardiere with its large terraces and open views towards the cathedral of the ancient town of Gourdon en Quercy. We are only 5 minutes to the town’s centre with its many shops and restaurants. Our town of Gourdon has a very mediaeval feel to it : a fortified gate, half-timbered houses, narrow lanes twisting up to the esplanade where once the castle stood… From the top of the hill, the gently undulating landscape reminds you of Perigord. All that remains of the castle and ramparts destroyed in the 17th C. is the circle traced by the paths around the hilltop. The Lot's character is formed by its 'causses' (limestone plateaux) through which the Lot, Dordogne and Célé valleys have carved their way. It is studded with major tourist attractions and beautiful villages such as Cahors, Figeac and Saint Cirq Lapopie…. Man and Nature have both left their imprint on the Pech Merle cave and Padirac Chasm. Whether you're rambling or cycling, the unspoiled, authentic nature of the Lot is plain to see. Home to excellent local produce and fine food and wines, the Lot has many treats to offer your taste buds, including truffles, foie gras, lamb and melons from Quercy, and Cahors Malbec Wine. We are also close to many other places of interest including Sarlat, Rocamadour Sanctuary, Domme, Grotte de Pech Merle, Grotte de Lascaux, and many more. Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 8.7 for a two-person trip. We provide two large king sizes bedrooms en suite, each with their own private terrace, access to the breakfast terrace where you can take in the beautiful scenery and the quietness of our extensive gardens. You will have the use of our summer kitchen equipped with an induction hob and oven, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. Breakfast is a relaxed affair where you can help yourself to cheeses and meats and the freshly sourced breads and pastries from our local boulangerie. Also provided is a washing machine to allow you catch up with any laundry needs. We also have a table tennis, a badminton net and bicycles to allow you to explore the surrounding area at a gentler pace.

Beautiful house, very comfortable beds, great views, fantastic location, shooting stars!

We had a truly wonderful stay at the beautiful La Lézardière. We slept really well - the beds were so fresh and comfortable and it was very quiet. The breakfasts were lovely and having the choice of where to eat was great - loved our private terrace and also the large upper terrace that had great views of Gourdon and its church. Excellent base location to explore the local area from - highly recommend the caves at Padirac and the lake just outside Gourdon is excellent to swim for free! The highlight though was the sunset over the town and then watching the shooting stars while curled up on the sun loungers with cushions, blankets and tasty wine. A brilliant trip that we hope to repeat in the future. Thank you so much Caroline and James. You have something very special here!
