The Buqa apartment is located up a hill approximately 10 minutes walk from the centre of Samoens. Its easy to walk but is a little steep on the way back but manageable. You are in the Alps! Samoens is a beautiful small town, typically Savoie with great shops, restaurants and supermarket (there are actually 2 but as we were there...

Buqa is an ideal place to stay in Samoens. The location is perfect: so close to the town, but still quiet and peaceful. The view is fantastic. Sundowners on the balcony were bliss. The house is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. A great place.

Centre of Samoens
The centre focal piece of the village is the Jaysinia alpine botanical garden, created in 1906, and boasting over 8000 varieties of alpine flora, as well as waterfalls, castle ruins from XII century and a chapel from XVIII century. Buqa is sat in perfect balcony view of this beautiful 3.5 acre garden.
The square in the heart of the village has an Ice Skating rink, which converts into an outdoor nightclub - great fun, especially on New Year’s Eve!

Samoens and its surrounding area has all the amenities that cater for the residents and visitors. There is a good choice of bars, cafes, restaurants as well as pharmacies, over 40 clothes, trinkets, crafts and souvenir shops, supermar...

There are 6 ski and equipment hire shops available, some with discounts on offer.
Every Wednesday, there is a market, which sells local fresh produce of the Haute Savoie, such as cheeses, (Raclette and Tartiflette are the local specialities), sausages and wines, as well as local crafts- all reasonably priced.

• Follow the A40 motorway to France. Exit at Junction 18, signposted Samoens.
• Travel through Cluses.
• Approximately 2km after Chatillon, the road splits. Turn right, signposted Samoens.
• Continue through the village of Morillon and to the end of the road. IGNORE the signs to Samoens.
• Turn Left, crossing the bridge over Giffre River.
• Go straight at the roundabout, entering Samoens.
