The property also has full underfloor heating which can be controlled room by room, and as a recent conversion (July 2011) has all the modern levels of insulation, and effective lighting levels, water heating and includes internet access for those that just can't do without their emails. The kitchen has all mod cons including double oven range cooker and slow cooker, prepare your dinner then go and enjoy the day and come home to a lovely meal! We hope we've thought of everything you'll need in the kitchen to prepare a sandwich or a gourmet meal for 6, but if you'd rather get the caterers in we'll be happy to put you in touch with someone who'll provide you with just what you need. Following through from the kitchen and lounge we have the most beautiful orangery with dining table suitable for 6 guests. About the neighbourhood
Beamish Museum, the open-air ’Living Museum of the North’ which recreates life in the North East over various points in history, including a working coal mine, village, farm and tram system, makes a great day out. The Beamish Valley is one of the most important archaeological landscapes in England. A picturesque river setting, it boasts country inns and gastro pubs serving home cooked food. A 15 minute walk up the back road and you will find Tanfield Railway the world’s oldest working railway and engine shed.
How to get there
Follow the A1(M) until you reach the turn off for Chester-le-Street. At the roundabout take the road sign-posted A693 for Stanley and the Beamish Museum. Take this road, and head for Stanley. Just in front of the arched entrance to the museum, there is a left turn, which you must take. Keep on this road down into the bottom of the valley, past a high wall on your left and through a very sharp left- hand turn, past the Coppy Lodge on your right, until you arrive at a 'T' junction, with a hump-backed bridge to the left. Turn right at this junction, the road goes up then levels out and then up and levels out again. You will now see T...
