Set in the Derbyshire Dales on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Woodside Farm, Nr Matlock, was once a dairy farm but is now run as a smallholding, standing in five acres with free-range chickens and sheep graze in the surrounding fields. The farm and holiday cottage occupy a super rural position with fantastic views over the Derwent Valley and surrounding countryside. We are ideally situated for exploring the Peak District and the areas many attractions, with Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and of course Matlock and Matlock Bath close by. The cottage sleeps 4-5 people in two bedrooms.We have been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for 2017 and 2018 with 4.5 bubble, also been awarded 4 stars by Enjoy England and have been approved for the Walkers and Cyclists Welcome Scheme. Pets are welcome by arrangement. Water is from our own natural spring. Ground floor Lounge: Sofa bed and chairs, log burning stove, colour television, video and DVD/CD player. Kitchen/Diner: Table and chairs, oak beams, electric cooker and hob, washing machine, refrigerator and microwave. Shower Room: Wash basin and toilet. Drying room : Tumble dryer and table top freezer. Entrance hall: For storage of bikes etc. First floor Bedroom 1: One double bed with cot or Z-bed if required. Bedroom 2: Two single beds. Wash room: Wash basin and toilet. Services The farm cottage is double glazed with oil fired central heating, log burning stove and fitted carpets throughout. Linen: Each of the beds are fitted with quilts and pillows. All bed linen is included plus towels and tea towels. Electricity: Is included in the tariff. Cot and high chair: Provided on request. Outside: A small walled garden to the front and to the back a lawned area, patio table & chairs and portable barbecue are provided + childrens play area with climbing frame. Washing line and pegs provided. Parking: For two cars directly outside the cottage. Shops and pubs in the village of Two Dales and Darley Dale 1 1/2 miles away. Railway station at Matlock 3 1/2 miles. Guests can be met by appointment. This is a non-smoking cottage. On Arrival Welcome pack: tea, coffee, milk and flowers. Extras can be provided by prior arrangement. Information pack: In the cottage is a folder full of useful information, attractions, walks, cycling routes and lots more. Originally from the area we have local knowledge to assist you in your holiday plans, advising on local attractions or generally providing assistance, if you wish, or you may want to explore this area of natural beauty yourself. A well-stocked library of guidebooks and maps enables our guests to plan and gain the most from their stay. As a family enterprise, we aim to please and provide a memorable holiday, weather that is simply self-catering accommodation, Bed & Breakfast or a more organised event. Help feed lambs during lambing or collecting eggs from our own chickens. We usually meet our guests on arrival and assist them with settling into The Old Farmhouse. We really enjoyed our stay, the owner went above and beyond to help in anyway possible. If your looking for a quiet getaway this is the ideal location.

Lovely little cottage, well stocked with all the home comforts.Great little play area with climbing frame and swings just up the track.Well worth the visit.

Set in beautiful countryside, lovely and peaceful. Comfortable and cosy - although another soft chair would have made it even better! Cooked a full Sunday roast with ease, everything we needed to hand. One teeny suggestion...bigger, softer towels would have been great and meant a...More

Reviewed twice before. Always enjoy our family stay here.. The farmhouse is charming, very old world but with modern utilities. Shelley and Steve are great and always friendly and helpful.

An excellent place to stay and relax in quiet countryside with a lovely woodland walk from the cottage. Centrally located to all major towns and visitor attractions. Shelley was extremely welcoming and helpful.

About the neighbourhood
Darley Moor is in a secluded position on the edge of Two Dales in the Derbyshire Dales, not far from the lovely market town of Matlock and Bakewell. With bridle ways going right past the door, there is direct access to the local countryside. A short drive away are the stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall and famous beauty spots including Dove Dale, Lathkill Dale and Monsal Dale.
Getting around
A car is recommended for your stay at The Old Farmhouse. Railway station and bus station is located in Matlock 3 1/2 miles. Guests can be met by appointment.
