Covid - 19; there are new cleaning practises in place going forward, so check in time is later than normal, 4pm and check out time is still 10am. I would also ask if guest could strip all the beds used and place bedding plus towels in bags provided prior to leaving, thank you. Full details in the cottage. Only restrictions re Covid-19 is that if you or any of your family have virus symptoms prior to your stay, you will not be able to take the holiday. If a guest presents themselves with symptoms while here, all the group/family will asked to check out straight away and return home to isolate according to current government guidance. If a guest presents themselves with symptoms while here, all the group/family will asked to check out straight away and return home to isolate according to current government guidance. Set in the Derbyshire Dales on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Woodside Farm, Nr Matlock, was once a dairy farm but is now run as a smallholding, standing in five acres with free-range chickens and sheep graze in the surrounding fields. The farm and holiday cottage occupy a super rural position with fantastic views over the Derwent Valley and surrounding countryside. We are ideally situated for exploring the Peak District and the areas many attractions, with Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and of course Matlock and Matlock Bath close by. Adjoining our farmhouse, The Old Farmhouse is an 18th century stone cottage with exposed beams and full of character, traditionally furnished with a log burning stove and well equipped , with excellent walks from the doorstep. The cottage sleeps 4-5 people in two bedrooms. We have been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for 2017, 2018 with 4.5 bubble and 5 bubbles for 2019, also been awarded 4 stars by Enjoy England and have been approved for the Walkers and Cyclists Welcome Scheme. Pets are welcome by arrangement. Water is from our own natural spring. Ground floor Lounge: Sofa bed and chairs, log burning stove, colour television, video and DVD/CD player. Kitchen/Diner: Table and chairs, oak beams, electric cooker and hob, washing machine, refrigerator and microwave. Shower Room: Wash basin and toilet. Drying room : Tumble dryer and table top freezer. Entrance hall: For storage of bikes etc. First floor Bedroom 1: One double bed with cot or Z-bed if required. Bedroom 2: Two single beds. Wash room: Wash basin and toilet. Services The farm cottage is double glazed with oil fired central heating, log burning stove and fitted carpets throughout. Linen: Each of the beds are fitted with quilts and pillows. All bed linen is included plus towels and tea towels. Electricity: Is included in the tariff. Cot and high chair: Provided on request. Outside: A small walled garden to the front and to the back a lawned area, patio table & chairs and portable barbecue are provided + childrens play area with climbing frame. Washing line and pegs provided. Parking: For two cars directly outside the cottage. Shops and pubs in the village of Two Dales and Darley Dale 1 1/2 miles away. Railway station at Matlock 3 1/2 miles. Guests can be met by appointment. This is a non-smoking cottage. On Arrival Welcome pack: tea, coffee, milk and flowers. Extras can be provided by prior arrangement. Information pack: In the cottage is a folder full of useful information, attractions, walks, cycling routes and lots more. Originally from the area we have local knowledge to assist you in your holiday plans, advising on local attractions or generally providing assistance, if you wish, or you may want to explore this area of natural beauty yourself. A well-stocked library of guidebooks and maps enables our guests to plan and gain the most from their stay. As a family enterprise, we aim to please and provide a memorable holiday, weather that is simply self-catering accommodation, Bed & Breakfast or a more organised event. Help feed lambs during lambing or collecting eggs from our own chickens. We usually meet our guests on arrival and assist them with settling into The Old Farmhouse. We look forward to welcoming you to The Peak District and hope you enjoy your time here as much as we enjoy living here and will return again. More
