A good location, great for the nothern /western lakes, not bad for the rest. Unlike other similar size properties we have had, it actually can accommodate 6-7 adults both in the bedrooms, kithchen and the lounge.

The appartment is very very equipped and maintained to a high standard. Every room is clean fresh and well decorated. The huge kitchen is well equipped and sits six comfortably with a fabulous view from the French windows and terraced. Beautiful place. If I could move here, I would. We had an outstanding time. David is a fantastic host, everything you need is at StonyAcre. I would definitely stay here again. Great place, decorated very nicely with lots of Lakes District photographs. Beautiful view, gardens, and valley.

About the neighbourhood
The Newlands Valley links the village of Braithwaite with Buttermere. There are very fine walks straight onto the fells from the property so no need to take the car all the time .. big walks, high walks, low walks , valley river walks, walks to tea shops, walks to lakes.<BR><BR>Whinlatter is nearby and as well as a Go-Ape has an extensive cycling path network catering for all levels.<BR>within a couple of miles are a marina (offering canoe, boat hire) and Newlands Adventure Centre for Ghyll Scrambling, Climbing etc.<BR><BR>The views from StoneyAcre are spectacular and take in Skiddaw, Blencathra, Helvellyn, Catbells, and Causey Pike.

Railway: Penrith: 32.0 km
From J40 of the M6 , head west towards Keswick on the A66 for 20 miles. A mile past Keswick turn left into Braithwaite and head towards Buttermere. StoneyAcre is about a mile out of Braithwaite.
