Across the road you will find the stunning church of St Romald better known as the 'Cathedral of the Dales'. High Force is a spectacular sight. The River Tees suddenly drops 21 metres over the Whin Sill into a plunge pool below. High Force is situated in the North Pennines only 10 miles from Caroline Cottage. It is also an ideal location to visit other great places including Bowes Museum, Raby Castle, Richmond, Barnard Castle, Durham and Hamsterley Forest. A stone built quaint country cottage set in the heart of the jewel of all the Teesdale villages, Romaldkirk. The cottage overlooks the beautiful village green. The cottage feels extremely peaceful. An ideal escape. All other villages plus Barnard Castle are within short reach.
