Village of Kras is an old shepherd's village. It is located in the middle of the island, almost in his geographical center, at the intersection of roads which lead from Dobrinj to Krk or Malinska. Kras is the highest village on the island of Krk, settled 266 meters above the sea level.
Nearby is the highest peak in this part of the island, KUŠEVICA, popularly St. George, 311 m asl. At the top of KUŠEVICA there is a local cemetery and the ruins of the former church of St. George, and nearby is the largest 'dry stone walls' (Scree) on the island, 'Vela gromača'.
