Hawthorn Lodge is situated in the rural village of Coed y Paen and is only 2-3 minutes drive or 10 minutes walk to the Carpenters' Arms Public House & Restaurant and Llandegfedd Reservoir’s Visitor and Watersports Centre. Set in just under 2 acres of grounds - which it shares with its sister bungalow Blackthorn Lodge - this two bedroomed Visit Wales 4 Star detached country bungalow offers a spacious lounge with comfortable 2 and 3 seater sofas, a 40' flat screen smart tv with freeview and a blu-ray dvd player. The bungalow offers one double bedroom with a double bed, mirror wardrobes and a 32' freeview tv and the other with one full-sized single divan bed, one 4ft double bed and mirror wardrobes. The lodge can comfortably sleep up to 4 people and there is a large double sofa bed in the lounge that can be used should 2 guests choose not to share the double bed. The modern fitted kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, electric hob, oven, toaster, kettle and a microwave oven. The bathroom is a fully tiled wet room with shower, toilet and sink. The exterior consists of a patio area with garden furniture, flowers and a large grassed area for recreational purposes. There is also a small fruit orchard which is home to a small flock of free-range chicken. A range of children's play equipment including a double swing set, trampoline and a brick built BBQ are available for guests' use - subject to conditions. The accommodation is suitable for singletons, couples, friends and families and is disability friendly. It has wheelchair accessible doors, electric sockets and light switches. Electricity, wood for the wood burner, towels and bed linen are all included in the price. Sorry but no pets are allowed inside the bungalow or in the grounds. Llandegfedd Reservoir with its recently opened Visitor and Water Sports Centre forms a 434 acre lake which has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its wildlife. It offers something for all ages including a range of water sports, bird watching, fishing, walks and a café where you can look out over the reservoir while enjoying a range of refreshments. Hawthorn Lodge is also close to two local golf courses. Usk town offers a range of small traditional rural tea shops and restaurants while Cwmbran - less than 4 miles away - offers a Bowl Plex, Vue Cinema, Community Farm, Boating Lake and a host of cafes, restaurants and large retailers. Local attractions include Blaenavon World Heritage Site, Big Pit, Caerleon Roman Amphitheatre, Llandegedd Reservoir,, Usk Picnic Area etc. The property is less than 6 miles from the M4 motorway which provides easy access to local castles and numerous other attractions including St Fagans and Cwmcarn Scenic DriveMore

A lovely and cosy holiday let. We loved the location as there are plenty of walks and it’s within short distance of a nice cosy pub who serve fantastic meals. Was just what was needed for a nice break away. Bonus having the land with...More
