One Coastguard Cottage, in Caister-on-Sea near Great Yarmouth is a Victorian 3 bedroom ex-coastguard's cottage with direct access through the garden gate to miles of sandy beach. The refurbished cottage has undergone complete renovations to provide a comfortable and relaxing stay and is peacefully located at the end of a dead end road. There is parking for 2 cars directly outside the cottage. Built in 1881 to house lifeboat men and their families the cottages are located right on the beach to facilitate quick access to the sea. This also works well for guests as there are no roads or obstacles between the cottage and sea to worry about. Modern, fully equipped kitchen/diner with dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. Bright large lounge with wooden floors, log fire and full central heating throughout. FREE HIGH SPEED WIFI and Freesat/DVD on a 42” HD TV. Bathroom with a thermostatic shower and large bath. 220 thread count Egyptian Cotton Percale sheets and 600gsm towels provided for a truly luxurious and comfortable stay. . Gas Central Heating and washing machine Fully enclosed gardens! One south facing with a lawn and patio with table and chairs, the other decked with seating also. Two off-road parking spaces next to the cottage Awesome sea views. There are no cottages closer to the sea in this area. Listen to the sea at night, breathe in the fresh air, relax in the luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets and sleep very, very well. Nearest pub 2 min walk. Out the gate onto the beach, turn left and stroll along the sand. Nearest (and greatest) fish and chips 6 mins. Out the gate onto the beach, turn right along the sand. Turn right at the lifeboat station and it's ahead of you. One Coastguard Cottages is on a beautiful golden sandy beach in the old fishermen quarter of the village and close to the High Street with all local amenities. Supermarkets, Post Office, family butcher and fish and chips all within a short walk. Caister-on-Sea is a vibrant and friendly village with everything you could expect to find in a larger town and much more. There is a private and free golf course, speedway, go carts, horse and greyhound racing, a Roman site and a castle. The Norfolk Broads, with boat rentals and rides, Norwich with its theatre and markets and much more are all located within a short distance. It's a great area to visit! Living a few doors away I always welcome guests to the cottage personally. I am also here on site to resolve any issues and make suggestions for days out. I have lived in this area for about 13 years and like to inspire excursions to places I’ve visited myself.

Having already stayed here in Feb 2018, decided to return for New Year 2018/19. Lovely beach walks just a few footsteps away. Keep an eye out for handsome Irish Wolfhound ‘Milo’ & his lovely owner Brian - regular walkers on said beach. Ventured further afield...More

so close to the sea just outside the back gate amazing views from the bedrooms family enjoyed the hammock in the garden we`ll visit again

About the neighbourhood
The cottage is located in the original old part of Caister where Cottages all smoked fish from the fleet. The high street and Tan Lane have local shops including a butchers, fishmongers and post office. We also have a vets, Tesco, Lidl and numerous eating establishments. Some are even really good. Let me tell you where.
Getting around
It being Norfolk, a car is the best means of exploring by you can easily get around on public transport. Caister is served by a number of bus routes to Great Yarmouth, Norwich and Lowestoft directly. Great Yarmouth Railway station is a bus ride away.
