Keep snug inside with the woodburner (and enough wood provided for at least 2 cosy nights) or step outside and luxuriate in our Japanese soak tub - filled with fresh water for each use, meaning no nasty chemicals! Step off the veranda into the meadow to your fire-pit. We include barbecuing equipment for you to enjoy some "smoke & sizzle" too! If you fancy just "staring at the stars" then enjoy sitting on the swinging cedar love seat. You will find your stay the perfect way to disconnect - but don't worry, I wasn't going to forget free, fast and reliable WiFi -so after a day of exploring the countryside, you can wind down and stream a film or post that Instagram holiday snap! You'll find staying at The Roost to be an immersive experience, nestling into the landscape and local wildlife. Features such as the cabins' living roofs, the wildlife pond and patches of beautiful wildflower are dedicated to sustaining our local bees, bats and all wildlife alike. We pride ourselves on our green credentials and are happy to say we have an electric car charging point onsite for your use too. Woof! We welcome 2 small dogs or 1 medium sized dog. We leave a blanket, towel, poo bags, water & food bowel and a treat for each dog. I will also give you information on dog friendly pubs and restaurants in the area. If you pooch has got a bit muddy on all those lovely walks, we provide doggy towels and have a dog wash area behind the site office. There is a charge of £30 for one dog (£40 for two dogs) per stay. This is payable by card to the owner before arrival - a payment link will be sent to your email address.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recharged
Just returned from 3 days staying at The Nest and feel fully recharged. The whole experience, from booking to departure has been brilliant. The information we received prior to arrival was spot on, and meant that we knew everything before we arrived, and didn't over pack! The place is really nice. Clean, tidy, and just the right size. Everything has been thought of, to make your stay as comfortable and hassle free as possible. I would definitely look to return.

Perfect weekend break!
What a little bit of heaven! Tucked away in a quiet spot with only the birds and wildlife to listen to, just what we needed after a busy few weeks! The cabin was so cosy and perfectly equipped to prepare yummy food and enjoy a drink with a lovely view. The food that we added to our stay was so good added to it being one of the easiest weekend breaks we’ve enjoyed in ages. Will definitely be back! Lorraine kept us informed of everything we needed to know throughout and was so quick to reply to any queries. Thank you so much x

Romantic anniversary weekend break.
An idyllic getaway for a romantic holiday. Tastefully decorated, with every mod-con you need, The Nest allowed us to relax and enjoy the peace and serenity of the countryside. Loved the Japanese soak tub, the log fire with accompanying marshmallows and the swing on the veranda, which brought back happy memories of childhood. Will definitely be returning.

The Roost Luxury log Cabins - What an absolute Gem!
What a wonderful experience we had at The Nook. From the moment we booked, the extensive information sent to us before hand, meant that we had high expectations, and they were certainly 100% met! Lorraine provided some lovely extras which we really appreciated, and were so thoughtful. Within minutes of arriving, we were sitting out on the veranda on the swinging chair in the late afternoon sunshine, eating those amazing home made brownies- thank you! The Roost App was brilliant, and all the information in there about the Cabin, local amenities and places to visit, meant that we used the time we had on our 4 day break really well. We used the App throughout our visit, seeking out the nearest bakery, pub etc, as well as info on the cabin equipment. We have a giant breed dog, so the well proportioned private, fenced garden was really important to us, and worked vey well, this really added to us feeling so relaxed. The truckle bed was a little small for him, but he loved the gravy bone treats left on it though! The Japanese Bath was a real treat - we loved sitting in there with the nightlights flickering with our glass of wine, watching the bats flying around - memories made for ever! We loved the local area, and enjoyed trips to the forest, walks and pubs along the River Wye, and a wander around Ross on Wye. My partner went off on two cycle rides, one in the forest, and another on a gravel track - all within minutes of the Cabin. All in all, this lovely, well equipped, comfortable cabin was perfect for us, and we are already planning when we can come back. We had such a relaxed time - thank you Lorraine for your eye to detail all for our enjoyment! Exceptional.

Amazing romantic getaway
We chose this to spend our 23rd wedding anniversary together. I have to say it was the perfect stay. Firepit, Soak Tub, Woodburner, Candles, Sheepskins. Every box was ticked for a romantic getaway. We will highly recommend to others. Loved the clear communications and online app Just a brilliant set-up

Idyllic setting and wonderful surroundings
The most peaceful weekend we have had. The cabin is fantastic and cozy. The secure garden is great for the dog to. A great weekend relaxing in the garden with a bbq and the hot tub. As night falls all you here are the birds and sheep and cows in the nearby fields. Sat on the swing seat with a glass of cider with darkness all around was idyllic. The cabin itself has everything you need and is spotless. The Roost is situated in the heart of the forest of dean with fantastic walks on your doorstep or a short drive away. Plenty of places to visit We shall return next year. Oh not forgetting scrummy chocolate brownies A must visit if you want peace and quiet and nice walking

What a lovely place to stay!
Thank you so much for letting us stay at your lovely nook. It has been beautifully decorated and felt very cosy and homely. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here! We really appreciated the little added touches, especially the brownies - they were delicious! The surrounding area is absolutely stunning and we have loved exploring.
