Abergynolwyn, Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, Wales
Nestled in the foothills of Cader Idris, in the spectacular Dysynni Valley, rests the beautiful Llanfihangel-y-Pennant. This rural hamlet is steeped in Welsh history and culture including the ancient St Michael's Church, Castell y Bere, and Mary Jones Memorial. Old Tyn-y-Fach is an 18th century, Grade II listed cottage. Nestled by a shallow stream, it backs onto a working farm, thus not only offering spectacular mountain and valley views, but also day to day farm life (lambing, sheep shearing, and working sheep dogs). It looks cosy and welcoming all year round, with its slate roof, white walls, and feature windows. Inside, the house has many original features including exposed oak beams, slate floors, fireplaces and deep windows. There are three very good sized bedrooms, one double, one twin, and the third, very large room, has twin... Read more

Well researched and informative notes plus diaries of previous guests which give one a good idea of what to do and where to go. Lovely mountain scenery and a babbling brook running past the front. Difficult to...

Management response:

Unfortunately the first I heard from this guest was AFTER their booked departure date and hence they gave me no opportunity to resolve any of their problems or complaints. Even so I offered to provide a refund in relation to relocation expenses. When they provided a receipt for a nearby cottage that had been booked months in advance I became...

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This cottage is perfectly located in a peaceful valley - especially in springtime surrounded by lambs, birds and flowers. We enjoyed the bubbling river, local walks and mountain climbs and the connections with history through immediate farms, churches and castles. The cottage has comfortable sleeping accommodation - especially useful to have enough single beds for 4 large sons. It is...
