Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Fabulous !!
Another amazing stay at Manor House Farm. Our first stay in the Old Farm House, having previously stayed in the Cowshed. It did not disappoint!! Absolutely stunning location, accommodation impeccably decorated, comfortable, cosy and first class cleanliness. Great walks from the property and a great little pub in the village. A fabulous base to explore the area. We are looking forward to revisiting hopefully later in the year. Thank you Julia - a superb host.

Beautiful cottage in a great location.
Manor Farm Cottages are located in Shelton, Derbyshire. It is a working sheep farm set on the top of the hill giving great views across the fields and valley. There are four properties to hire. We stayed in the Old Farmhouse, which is a two bedroom semi detached house with a large open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. Upstairs are two en suite bedrooms one with a large double bed and the other with two single beds. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher and modern cooker. The lounge has a lovely log burner and a large TV. The house was impeccably presented and was very clean. There is allocated parking with plenty of room. There was also a very impressive games room containing table tennis, pool table and many other games and toys. It also contained a large freezer to be shared by the four properties with a drawer each. There is also a washing machine etcetera for laundry purposes. Julia met us and was very friendly and gave us good advice on places to visit and restaurants to use. Overall we had a lovely holiday despite the varied weather from bright sunshine to snow!

A unique family farm break
Throughout our booking Julia and John did everything they could to make our trip as enjoyable as possible. From accurate and timely communications before our trip, to saying goodbye on the last day, everything was excellent. The accommodation is superb, very clean and tidy, on a gorgeous farm in a quiet village in the peaks. The kids loved their stay seeing the pigs, ducks, chickens, cat, dog, and of course all of the sheep! Our hosts allowed the kids to feed the animals too which was a nice touch. There’s a games room to enjoy along with secure cycle storage. The log burner was great even in the summer to relax with a glass of wine after a long day out in the countryside. The hosts provide a folder on arrival with info on local walks/cycle routes, local attractions, and key info. Over all a 5* experience and I am sure if you stay in any of the beautifully decorated cottages at any time of year you will have a great stay.

Incredible scenery, great hospitality
The cottages have been superbly outfitted, and they look out over what has to be one of the best views from a cottage in the country. Julia and John are extremely accommodating, and the farm is a perfect base for exploring all the Peak District has to offer (especially being just a 5 minute drive to Bakewell). Brilliant stay, highly recommended - we'll be back

Perfect Stay
What a lovely place, we hired 3 of the 4 cottages on site to Celebrate a Special Birthday, so comfortable, the attention to detail is just amazing, even down the pumpkins laid out in time for Halloween, to the super comfy beds. All 3 generations of our family had a truly memorable party weekend. The owners are welcoming and at hand to help out, with any queries, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended, exceeded all expectations, hope to return next year!

Perfect Stay!
We have just returned home from a wonderful long weekend at Manor House Farm Cottages - staying in the Cowshed. This is the dog friendly cottage out of the four cottages on the farm. It was luxury, absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated. We had plenty of space for the two of us and our four month old baby, as well as our dog. We loved how the owners had really catered for a dog in this cottage with a dog bowl, a dog towel and blanket and then a really handy hot dog wash on site. As well as the beautiful accommodation the farm has spectacular views over Derbyshire. The owners themselves were very friendly and gave us some great tips on places to visit. Manor House Farm Cottages is the perfect place to stay whilst visiting Derbyshire, we will certainly be back again soon!

Wonderful weekend, highly recommend!
We were 3 generations staying in 3 of the properties for a long weekend. All the cottages are beautifully converted, with high end finishes and luxurious touches. The quality of the furniture, kitchens and soft furnishings is really top class. The absolute jewel in the crown is the games barn, which is huge and has a whole host of equipment to entertain kids and adults alike. Julia and John are really helpful hosts and have done a great job renovating! We will recommend to all our friends for an ideal group property rental.

A fantastic place with beautiful views
This new holiday rental is a real find, very luxurious and beautifully presented. The house itself is fantastic, and has everything you could wish for. My family and friends were so very impressed with this place, they absolutely loved it. The place was especially convenient for a large group, as it provided very well set-up kitchens and common rooms in which we could have meals together and just relax. In winter the log burners must be amazing. The owners were incredibly helpful and made sure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible, and provided barbecues and a games room full of things to do for the children - from board games to a table tennis table and even a pool table! The views from this location are to die for, and there is even a site of historic interest only a short walk away. It is perfectly situated for access to Bakewell and the Peak District, and for walks to the nearby Monsal Trail. We had a great time and would love to return in the future!!

Fantastic, top quality cottages, peaceful site with wonderful views and friendly animals on the farm.
The four of us had a wonderful week in one of the high spec fully equiped cottages, converted sympathetically from an old barn. The amount of work the owners have put into the transformation is incredible! The kids loved the space and the friendly animals and we all enjoyed the cosy log burner in the evening. Great for walking and relaxing in the open country!
