Lower Marsh Farm, Landulph, is set within an Area of Outstanding National Beauty on the River Tamar. A former Duchy of Cornwall renowned daffodil farm, Lower Marsh Farm is on the outskirts of the pretty village of Landulph benefiting from the secluded feel of being a million miles from City life but with the convenience of being striking distance of modern amenities. Kingfisher Barn is an attractive stone converted barn which provides superior accommodation for 4-8 people staying at Lower Marsh Farm. Set over two floors, the top floor boasts a stunning large open plan lofty beamed ceiling kitchen / living area (approx 5m x 10m) with oak flooring, dining table and a fitted kitchen with all modern conveniences. Outside there's a private garden area including a table and chairs for al-fresco dining, a tree perfect for kids to climb on and herbs for adding to your dinner. Guests have full access to all of our on-site amenities – including tennis court, orchard with a hammock for relaxing and admiring the view, basketball hoop, private woodland and shingle beach. Walk to the River Tamar beach past the Salt Marsh Nature Reserve grazed by gorgeous Highland Cows. While staying here, you can benefit from discounted tickets for the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project and access to Cornwall Wildlife Trust wildlife education sessions for children which include mini-beast safaris, rock pooling events and bird box making. Children and babies are welcome and we have a cot, high chair and stair-gate available by prior arrangement (plus can provide baby bath, kitchen cupboard door locks etc). We have ample parking and storage areas for bikes, surf boards. 3 of the bedrooms can either have a king sized bed or twin singles. The fourth bedroom has a full sized bunk-bed. You are welcome to bring a well-behaved dog by prior arrangement (there is a £20 charge per dog). After a day of exploring the Farm and nearby areas, relax with a drink in front of the roaring log burner – there is an ample supply of logs provided. There are so many things to do here and out and about, but for any rainy days, the barn comes complete with a 49″ wall mounted satellite television, Blu-Ray/DVD player and 5.1 surround sound. You can even connect your iPod / iPhone wirelessly to the sound system to play your favourite tunes whilst you cook or eat. There are books and DVDs in the the property for your use. This is a NO SMOKING property with free Wi-Fi. Bed linen, towels and heating (via efficient storage heaters) are included. The magical Nature Reserve is rare salt marsh habitat and boasts an interesting array of flora and fauna. With herons, buzzards, egrets, kingfishers, pheasants, owls and bats galore, Lower Marsh Farms offers the nature lover over 40 acres of opportunities for rambling, bird watching, or just enjoying the peace and quiet of the Cornish countryside. In easy reach are beaches, fantastic gardens, and lots of activities for all ages. There are plenty of sailing opportunities in the nearby safe waters of the Tamar estuary and there is a yacht club approximately 1 mile away in Cargreen. For Golfers, a few miles away is the St Mellion International Resort and for non-golfers there are luxurious spa facilities. There is now a fully furnished office that can be used by guests staying with us. Free Wi-Fi access, printing (in excess of 10 A4 sheets will incur a small charge), teas and coffees.More

About the neighbourhood
Rural on the outskirts of a small village yet only 20 minutes from Plymouth. Supermarkets and pubs within 15 minutes plus great access to sights including Dartmoor, Bodmin moor, Eden project, lost gardens of heligan and beaches to name a few! Where the farmhouse now stands, pilgrims would gather before setting sail for Compostela in Spain. Back in the 15th century, Landulph was one of the approved starting points for people making the pilgrimage, and hundreds of licences to take part in the pilgrimage to the shrine of St James were issued at Landulph. The church at the end of the drive holds several interesting artefacts and can be visited by prior arrangement.
