We spent a fabulous 4 days in the cottage mid-December, as a group of 4 friends in their 20's it provided absolutely everything (and much more) than we expected. Great local pubs, beautiful scenery and welcoming locals. We chose not to hire a car and did not find it a problem in the slightest. There is an excellent taxi service which is very reasonably priced, and a reliable bus service into the larger towns. Whether walking is on the agenda or sitting in front of a roaring log fire, the surrounding countryside and villages in West cork are as picturesque as they are welcoming, with plenty to keep you occupied. We ate out a few times and experienced an extremely high standard of locally sourced food, particularly seafood straight from the coastline. The cottage is in excellent condition with cosy rooms and a spacious open plan kitchen containing all mod cons and appliances. One of the most memorable and enjoyable holidays we have been on.

You would definitely need a car or motoroised transport if you were planning on staying here.
There were nice touches on arrival such as milk and butter in the fridge and fresh flowers.
The house was as nice as pictures suggest with a c. 1/2 acre garden and is next door to a working farm. Inside, the house was well maintained and a nice bright feel to it.
It proved an ideal base from which to see much of west Cork – we spent a number of days on the nice sandy beach in Warren strand near Rosscarbery interspersed with trips to Kinsale, Skibbereen, Clonakilty and Union Hall. We were lucky with the...
