The Windmill Suffolk is an adults only holiday let and due to the layout with its sweeping staircase unfortunately The Windmill is not suitable for those with limited mobility. It is a non-smoking property throughout and not suitable for pets.

Wow. Simply wow. I had the absolute joy of staying at The Windmill Suffolk to celebrate my own and my Dad's birthday. The care and attention that has gone into every aspect of the venue, as well as the stay and hosting was beyond compare. Natalie and Steve have crafted the Windmill into a venue and stay that is stunning, the views from the balcony were lovely and it is a birthday ill never forget. Nothing was amiss, everything was provided and the stay was warm, genuine and memorable. I've not stopped recommending this beautiful and cool place to every person I've met. Natalie was so kind and enthusiastic and went the extra mile to make a 40th and 65th birthday one we will always remember.

Surprise birthday treat
An absolutely stunning place ,very tastefully decorated and peaceful surroundings. A surprise 50th Birthday treat from my husband .The hosts make you feel very welcome and relaxed. A nice Adults only break.

Best place to stay!
Natalie was an amazing host, The Windmill was one of the best places we have stayed, we went for our 4 year anniversary/engagement celebration and they we kind enough to put up a congratulations banner as well as giving us cake and wine!
The beds were so comfortable and the living areas were so lovely that we barely went out as we had everything we needed!
An amazing place if you want a chilled weekend 😁

Surprise 1st Wedding Anniversary Break
Wow, the minute we arrived we felt relaxed. I had ordered the afternoon tea as a surprise which was in the fridge ready for us which tasted amazing. I hadn’t told my hubby where we were staying he was thrilled when we arrived. His favourite place was the balcony at the top with his telescope I had sneaked into the boot of the car as he is a regular bird watcher and star gazer. We were so lucky with the weather. The Dressing gowns we had ordered were super soft and cosy whilst sitting watching the tv with a large glass of wine. Natalie had left us a lovely anniversary card and put a banner up in the kitchen very thoughtful. Everything you could possibly need the Windmill has. It looks brand new so clean and the bed and pillows are very comfy. We will definitely be booking again. We were lucky to have a clear night for star gazing. Can’t wait to return 😀

Perfect
One of my favouritest places! We went for our mini moon. And it was just as amazing and perfect as it was 5 years go! We will be back. Natalie is so welcoming and just a gorgeous person inside and out. It is sooooo chilled and so many lovely walks nearby. Cannot fault it x

Birthday stay
Had a fab time, me and my girlfriend, Natalie very attentive , just close/ far enough from amenities , can’t recommend enough
Just a hot tub in the front would be our suggestion , hopefully planned for the future?

Time to relax
We had the chance to stay at the windmill to relax and charge our batteries. Our time at the windmill did both, we came home feeling stress free and rejuvenated. We met the amazing Natalie who took us on a tour of the windmill….WOW what a beautiful place, the restoration (carried out by the very clever Steve) is just perfect and completed to the highest standard and the decoration is out of this world (Natalie’s area of expertise) everything flows and the curved lines everywhere adds to the calm atmosphere on every level. Sitting on the balcony on the top floor is out of this world, we were so lucky to have clear skies on our first night, the star gazing was wonderful. Thank you so much Natalie and Steve for making us feel so welcome, definitely a place to return to x

What an awesome place.
I honestly don’t know where to start, I could write a book about how great this place is and how lovely the owners are, my wife and I had a three night stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary, on arrival we were met by Natalie who is absolutely lovely and couldn’t be more helpful, the windmill itself is awesome and a bit of an architectural masterpiece, it has breathtaking views over the Suffolk countryside, which when we stayed in the first few days of autumn meant that you had beautiful misty atmospheric mornings and clear bright sunny days, that meant you really got the benefit of it’s perfect location, the interior design is lovely and no expense has been spared on its interior, everything is immaculate and works well, the windmill has ample parking and has a nice pub just down the road that does great food, although the windmill has a well and fully equipped kitchen, your also only a short drive from the lovely village of Lavenham, which is well worth a visit with it’s lovely shops and tea rooms, it’s also only about 15 minutes from Bury st Edmonds which is also one of my favourite places especially at Christmas, all in all a fantastic stay and I really can’t recommend it enough, if you want to do something special a little bit outside the norm, then this is the place for you, hope you enjoy your stay.

What a fantastic place!
My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a little weekend break and saw a post for The Windmill on FB. The photos looked absolutely amazing and the reviews were great so we decided this was the place for us!!
Firstly, Natalie was an absolute pleasure to liaise with - friendly, helpful and very accommodating when we had to postpone our arrival by a day due to a little issue with our dog 🙄.
The windmill is stunning - it has everything you could possibly wish for and the attention to detail is phenomenal. Natalie and Steve have literally thought of everything - even down to having chargers for all different brands of phone and electronic devices on every floor! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the views from the lounge were spectacular. We really cannot fault any aspect of our stay and would unreservedly recommend The Windmill to anyone.

Outstanding accommodation and attention to detail.
We have travelled the world over many years, staying at five star hotels and villas.
The Windmill we rate at the very top.
The attention to detail was first class .
It was comfortable in every way and it was a pleasure to stay in such a unique villa.

With plenty of country walks and local attractions, including a variety of National Trust properties within a 10 minute drive you have your pick of things to do during your stay with us.
Nestled in Suffolk’s beautiful countryside, The Windmill Suffolk,, is located just 2 miles from Historic Tudor Lavenham. We are less than 10 minutes drive from gorgeous Georgian Bury St Edmunds and its famous Abbey and gardens.
Newmarket races are 20 minutes away and Cambridge for obligatory punting on the river Cam and visiting the plethora of universities is 45 minutes drive away.
Getting around
The Windmill Suffolk is on a bus route but as we are in the countryside buses do not regularly especially in the evening, so it is beneficial to visit us by car.
This also means you will find it far easier to visit all the wonderful surrounding towns and villages within easy distance of The Windmill.
