The Rousdon Estate is a 5 minute drive from Lyme Regis (home to the famous Cobb and some lovely beaches) and only 10 minutes from Axminster where the River Cottage Canteen can be found. In fact, it's a perfect spot for exploring all along the Jurassic coast - from looking for fossils at Charmouth and visiting the Swannery at Abbotsbury to the quietly dignified Regency town of Sidmouth and quaint fishing village of Beer. The house itself offers all home comforts and is equipped to a very high standard. With four bedrooms (1 king, 2 doubles and a bunk room for 2) there is an additional day bed on the mezzanine floor and a double sofa bed in the living room. Two en-suite shower rooms, a family bathroom with bath and a downstairs cloakroom ensure you can be up and out quickly to enjoy your day. Outside there is a 50 foot garden lined with shrubs affording a great deal of privacy and a terrace for al fresco dining and barbecuing. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to find somewhere suitable and welcoming for faithful companions and dogs are welcome at Home Farm North. Doggy duvet beds, water and food bowls, towels, blankets and even toys are provided and the garden has been dog-proofed as far as possible. A welcome hamper is provided on arrival filled with some local goodies and basic grocery items.More

Enjoyed our stay there. Great WiFi, kitchen, space, garden. Two bedrooms only have Velux roof windows so not ideal for light/ventilation. Bedroom doors don’t stop noise. Booking arrangements excellent. Everything was provided including an amazing hamper of food.

We had a really lovely Christmas stay in this beautiful spacious house. Great location and set in lovely grounds. We even had Carol singing at the Manor House. The house was well equipped and a delicious hamper welcomed us on arrival. Would definitely recommend.

About the neighbourhood
3 Home Farm North is situated in what was once the stable block with a triple height ceiling and an archway that would have allowed carriages in to be stored. The area is very peaceful and at night very dark (no street lighting so torches are a must!) Across the way is the old forge and farmhouse. There are many walks around the estate which can be used by visitors - see maps on the estate roads. Just outside the estate gates, The Dower House Hotel offers a small bar, the Peek Village Hall also runs a bar and the Rousdon bakery is a great little coffee shop and breakfast stop. Within the house is a basket of leaflets from attractions and things to do in the area.
Getting around
A car is necessary for getting around as the estate is 3 miles from the nearest town. There are a number of reputable taxi firms that operate in the area for nights out, details can be found in the house.
