Le Vieux Cafe is the perfect retreat whether it’s summer or winter. Great space, well equipped, very comfortable and Annette & Jason are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Lots of winter walks in the countryside and on the beach and time to enjoy (this time) many chocolat chauds. Highly recommended.

Perfect humans and pet friendly cottage
Well equiped and comfortable cottage. Game room and sport room are kingdoms for children and adults.
Annette and Jason are welcoming, caring and very attentive to any problem. Everything is planned for our comfort and our well-being.You just have to put down your suitcases

Maison Lairoux
We had a fantastic stay at Maison Lairoux. The house had everything we needed, was perfectly clean and Annette and Jason are fantastic hosts who made sure we had the best stay possible (tips on beaches and underground carparks to keep the car cool were much appreciated!). The swimming pool, swings and games room were perfect for our family (old and young) with toys for the house/pool/beach all well used by our boys. Lovely beaches within a 15/20 min drive as well. Thoroughly recommend this holiday villa.

Excellent family holiday home
In short we will be booking to go back, that is how good our week here was!
The most well equipped holiday home you could imagine. As a family we only really only needed to arrive with our clothes as there was everything here we could have needed and more. The most incredibly equipped games room meant the children we so well occupied we were able to enjoy the beautiful location and relax (with a 3 and 5 year old!!). There was everything you might need to take to the beach, cool bags for picnics and the pool had a brilliant collection of inflatables and toys.
Jason and Annette the owners are lovely, so helpful and very knowledgeable about the area, they gave us some recommendations for things to do, places to eat (& wine to buy) that were just perfect for what we needed.
As I said at the start we will be returning and we cant wait!

Relaxing holiday in fabulous gite
Our friends recommended Le Vieux Cafe and we weren't disappointed. Very spacious and clean gite containing everything you could want. Our two boys (9 & 13 years) loved the pool, games room and gym and the fabulous weather meant we made good use of the pool.. The owners live next door to the gite and are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Although you can't walk to a village the gite is conveniently located for the lovely Vendee beaches and other visitor attractions. If we went again to the area we would get the ferry to St Malo rather than Cherbourg as it was a very long drive south!

Peaceful location, and a beautiful holiday gite
We have stayed at this holiday home for the past 6 years, and it never disappoints. The holiday home has lovely views of the surrounding countryside, and can easily accommodate large families. Fantastic location, with beeches around 20 - 30 mins drive away. The games room and the pool kept the kids occupied, whilst the hosts Jason & Annette can advise the best places to visit for day trips out. We have already booked for next year ! Thanks again Jason & Annette.

Charming, relaxing and authentic.....perfect!
This was a return visit so we knew it would be wonderful..and it was!
Genuine old house renovated and lovingly looked after. The owners couldn't be more helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The location is quiet but there is everything there you need. The pool is amazing and local facilities are very good.
A peaceful, relaxing and beautiful place.
We've already booked for next year!

Our holiday home is set in the pretty village of Lairoux, on a small hill overlooking a beautiful wetland valley below. A car is essential, as the nearest shops and restaurants are a 10 minute drive away.
The beaches are only 15km and La Rochelle and Les Sables d'Olonne are both 50 minutes away.
