Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful location with great access to the town, brilliant restaurants, and the beach!
Our stay at Villa Christina outdid expectations, the local town is beautiful and full of life, with a great variety of places to eat, drink and relax. The nearby beaches were lively but not busy, and only a short walk from the villa. A short drive away is the city of Volos, with a bustling seafront covered in bars and restaurants, which was a lovely day out! Overall an excellent place to stay, and I would recommend Villa Christina to people of all ages.

Magnifique

Paradise!
I traveled from one end of Greece to the other - from dazzling Santorini to breathtaking Athens to mesmerizing Skiathos.
But they hold nothing over the glorious little village of Amaliapolis and Villa Christina! Each and every aspect of both the place and the villa surpassed every expectation, I'm already dreaming of when I can return.
Amaliapolis very much now owns my heart, and Villa Christina is the perfect place to enjoy it.

Lovely house, nice location, everything provided
The house was great, exactly as advertised, and had everything we needed. The area was lovely - loads of beaches, including a really nice one within a few minutes' walk, and never felt too touristy. Highly recommended

We are glad you found the house was to your liking. It is not a major tourist hub and this allows our visitors a different perspective on what the area has to offer.

Nicely appointed apartment in pretty untouristic rural seaside fishing village.
If you like off the beaten track locations this would be hard to beat. The apartment in an impressive house is well appointed with all round balcony views. A small beach ( with beach taverna) ideal for young children, a couple of decent fairly priced harbour tavernas and bars and minimarkets, baker and greengrocer are less than ten minutes walk from the property. Seemingly remote it has easy access to the main motorway (E75) for excursions to a plethora of lesser known ancient sites and major cities ( Lamia/Larissa/Volos). Just proves that there are places around that are are not stuffed with tourists - you'll need some Greek as English is only spoken well by the odd restaurateur - although we were after main season.

The small number of tourists is what makes Amaliapolis unique - you can really experience Greek village life here and as you say it is easy to reach other busier places if you feel the need for city life.

Heaven is a Place on Earth!
My friends and I are young college students, and absolutely loved our weekend trip to Amaliapolis, Greece. Christina is extremely helpful, as well as the housekeeper, and everyone in the village is extremely friendly and nice. We were given detailed instructions upon arrival at Volos Airport, and had the best taxi driver Christos take us to the villa.
The location is great for the price, and there is a nice strip of sandy beach within 10 minutes walking distance from the villa. Also, there are small bakeries, restaurants, grocery stores and a fruit shop where we were able to get fresh and delicious food. The people in the village mostly speak Greek, and it is a cash based town, but everyone is friendly and makes an effort to communicate no matter the level of English spoken.
Our trip went extremely smoothly, and everybody made an extra effort to make sure we had the best time possible. Christos was always on time, and emails were received with informative replies in a timely basis.
I would recommend this location to anyone visiting Greece. If you have the chance to rent a car, that may be helpful in taking day trips to nearby villages and landmarks.
We took a taxi to Athens for a day trip and loved seeing the city. Other places that I hope to return to see include Meteora, Volos, and Skiathos.
Overall, this is an excellent way for families, young travelers, and older individuals to see an authentic, relaxing place in Greece.

Wonderful beach villa in authentic, beautiful, stunning Greek village.
I stayed in Amaliapolis at Villa Christina and I have to say it was one of my favorite vacations thus far. Having never heard of the town, my friends and I decided to take on an adventure and couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. The town is gorgeous, quiet, and the people are wonderful. Although there is a language barrier, every single member of the town waved hello and welcomed us into their village. We even got a tour of Athens from a local's sons! So much fun! The villa was fantastic! Well kept and we had a gorgeous view of the ocean and town from our balcony. It was spacious and Christina the owner was amazing and answered all of our questions prior to our stay. She arranged a cab for us as well. Everything about this village and villa is perfect: the food, people, beaches, prices...I definitely recommend everyone to stay here! Perfect for families, friends, and even college students like us.

Best Holiday!
We were hot & tired when we arrived but soon relaxed as we saw Amaliapolis looming in the distance-What a beautiful location and unspoilt by tourism. The Villa did not disppoint! very convenient and surrounded by olive groves. Away for the village yet within easy walking distance. The apartment was spacious and well maintained. A cleaner came in to change sheets and tidy once, sometimes twice a week. The owner has devised an information book which we found very useful and used it to visit places of interest in the area. The beach at Amaliapolis was beautiful -again never crowded and a smart cocktail bar provided comfortable seating and refreshments.
We had a very relaxing time but would recommend a car although it is not essential as there is plenty to do within walking distance.
Plenty of choice with local restaurants and the local bakery baked fresh bread ,croissants etc daily.
If you are hesitant about the villa and area -please dont be -we had the best holiday ever!!

Lovely apartment in charming seside village
We really enjoyed our relaxing stay in this attractive apartment which was well equipped, clean and comfortable. We especially liked the sunny balconies and lovely garden. It was great to have the air conditioning in mid summer too.
The beach is just a stroll away with lovely swimming and the village is charming and has lots of restaurants/bars and useful shops.
