This is the perfect place to get away from it all, and if you are looking for outdoor activities including walking, bird watching, fishing, kayaking and whale and seal watching, then this is the holiday rental for you! Sea eagles and Golden eagles are often seen around the cottage area, and binoculars are provided to help you spot them! The cottage is regularly used by the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society as a base whilst conducting marine surveys Raasay is independently owned, and we have considerably enhanced and upgraded the facilities. This is our holiday home, and forward to sharing it with you Included in the cost of your holiday: Electricity and oil fired central heating/hot water Towels and bed linen High speed fibre wifi Initial supply of logs for wood burner (please note: the wood burner does not have a fire guard and should not be used when small children are present. Never leave children unattended, the fire gets extremely hot - use at your own risk) The bathroom includes a bath and a walk-in shower Note: We have our own private access to a public beach in front of the house. It is accessible over croft land, which is often a little wet - wellies are advised. In addition the access down to the beach is steep and not suitable for less mobile people, and great care should be taken. Accessing the beach is undertaken at your own risk, and children should not be allowed onto the croft or beach unless supervised by an adult. Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times unless in the enclosed gardens. Please note that there are sheep on the surrounding croft lands, and you must not allow your dog to worry the sheep. Dogs are charged at an additional charge of £15 per dog per stay. Payment to be made separately to owner. We have a wide selection of board games, jigsaw puzzles and books for your enjoyment.More

Interaction with guests
Raasay is our holiday home, so we aren't local. We'll leave you to enjoy your holiday without any interference from us. We have plenty of information on local attractions, walks, guides, maps and more in the sideboard. In addition, the cottage has high speed fibre broadband, so you can use any device you bring with you to search the internet for even more information. In the unlikely event of a problem or emergency, we have a local team in place ready to help, and if you have any queries during your stay, you can call us and we will do our best to help you.

The property is lovely, very clean and comfortable. Great beach nearby (where the caravan park is). We also discovered a small sandy stretch (like a row) at low tide just below the property between the rocks, which was an interesting find. We were not lucky...More

About the neighbourhood
Stunning. Rural. Remote. Windswept. Dark skies. Bracing. Peaceful. Scenic. Right by the sea. Fresh air. Full of sheep. And deer. And wildlife. And birds Awesome
Getting around
You are going to need a car. Preferably yours. Maybe a rental. But you are going to need a car. Holiday homes in peaceful, unspoilt, rural idyll’s tend not to be on the routes of great public transport. Raasay is no exception. The nearest shop is about 4 miles away (April to October) at The Sands camping park, or there are two convenience stores in Gairloch, along with an excellent butchers, an excellent sandwich shop (make sure to go there for Fresh Cream Cake Friday!), a newsagents, chip shop, Chinese takeaway and several eateries and pubs. There’s also a garage with 24 hour fuel Main supermarkets are in Ullapool (Tesco) and Inverness (Morrison’s, ASDA and Tesco) and a large Co-op in Kyle of Lochalsh You are going to need a car!
