OPEN TO WELSH HOUSEHOLDS FROM MARCH 27th AND U.K. VISITORS FROM APRIL 12th
This is an amazing place to unwind and be creative, enjoy the silence and see the stars. Hidden down a long track yet only 10 mins from shops, you’ll feel like you’re in another world. Restored with original materials and methods from a ruin and considered by many to be the best restoration in Wales. Almost everything is sourced from the valley - the oak beams, hazel in the wattle and daub walls and even the wool in the curtains all came from the hillside. Even the water comes from a spring and tastes beautiful.
Inside, the cottage is much bigger than it looks in pictures and is full of antiques and nice touches. The kitchen is very well equipped (NutriBullet etc) the cast-iron bath holds two with a view of the sun...OPEN TO WELSH HOUSEHOLDS FROM MARCH 27th AND U.K. VISITORS FROM APRIL 12th

Inside, the cottage is much bigger than it looks in pictures and is full of antiques and nice touches. The kitchen is very well equipped (NutriBullet etc) the cast-iron bath holds two with a view of the sunset and the fireplace will keep you warm no matter what the weather! In winter this is boosted by a new underfloor heating system.
It’s ideal for a romantic couple but also works well for families and small groups - actually waking up on the sofa bed near the stove is rather special!
Outside the new south-facing hot tub and picnic area has an amazing view of the mountains - you can see the Preseli Mountains 40 miles away in Pembrokeshire! There is also acres of beautiful garden, a dedicated bonfire area if you want one and a stream that runs just behind the cottage. Red kites and buzzards swirl over you constantly.
It’s the sort of place that seems to bring out the best in people, if you’re coming a long way then I recommend at least three days to really relax and appreciate it. I have tons of good tips for good things to see from castles to beaches and wildlife.
THIS COTTAGE IS MEAT-FREE! EMBRACE THE CHALLENGE AND BE VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN FOR A FEW DAYS! GREAT HOME-COOKED MEALS, RECIPE BOOKS AND ADVICE ARE AVAILABLE. If you really crave meat there’s plenty of good pubs and restaurants options nearby!
WELL-BEHAVED DOGS ARE WELCOME FOR AN ADDITIONAL £15 PER HOUND, PAYABLE ON ARRIVAL.More

I’ve lived in the area all my life and can speak Welsh - so I’m the best person to ask for almost anything: from castles with caves to the best place to see seals or learn Welsh. I love meeting new people - but otherwise I’ll leave you alone. Just ask!
This place was a real finding, it felt very special to stay in this beautiful cottage and almost travel back time in the best possible way - it was the perfect combination of peace and excitment! The food is a must and feels like a...More

What an amazing place and host!
If you want a peaceful, quiet and ecological, periodically traditional welsh cottage it doesn’t get better than this. The landscape and the views from the hot tub are amazing. Robin is also creating something very cool for bigger families...More

About the neighbourhood
The cottage is in lush countryside overlooking mountains and forests. There are plenty of sheep but very few houses, this really is a hidden gem. You are within half an hour of unspoilt beaches, romantic castles and wild wilderness.
Getting around
Really you need a car or bike to stay here although some guests come on public transport. The nearest train stations are Carmarthen, Aberystwyth or Llandovery. There is a good bus service to the nearest village and I can usually collect guests from there.
