Great House and Perfect Location
Had a wonderful stay at Gentian Cottage in June. The house has everything you'll need and is comfortable and clean. Perfect location to explore Clare with day trips to Galway and the Aran Islands. Cliff of Moher are close by...hint use the parking lot in Liscannor..3 euro to park and much less crowded walk toward the visitor center. The pubs in Doolin are great for music. Don't miss the chance to catch Dubhlinn and Blackie O'Connell at McDermott's! Ann is a wonderful host and super helpful. Highly recommend!

Our favorite lodging in Ireland!
The only thing wrong with our stay at this lovely home was that we only booked it for four nights. Ann, the delightful owner, thoughtfully supplied the home with some delicious bread and other staples upon our arrival. She cheerfully met us and gave us some great suggestions on what to do with our four days in the Doolin area. The views from this pleasant house were great! We even got to enjoy a peat fire in the evening that made our memories even better. The private tour of the castle was the highlight of my trip to Ireland and was worth the rental of the house alone. We'll be back to Doolin, and we'll certainly stay here again. Great location, great views, wonderful owner, and a comfortable home away from home!

Perfect stay on the Wild Atlantic Way!
We were fortunate enough to stay in this lovely home with spectacular views of the Wild Atlantic Way as part of a bigger trip throughout Ireland. Everything about the home is charming, clean and comforting. We congregated in the sunroom in the mornings to watch the water and ended with sunsets in the evenings. Everyone remarked at the end of our entire trip, that this was our favorite home and location. Ann, the owner, went out of her way to ensure that we had start-up food supplies, area attraction suggestions, and everything we needed from day one. She was friendly and personable-a lovely person to chat with. She offered a private tour of a castle on the family property and that was a huge highlight of the entire trip. We can't say enough about this wonderful stay-expect that we look forward to coming back and staying longer!

House with a view.
My family and I stayed at Gentian cottage for a week, there were seven of us in total, the cottage had more than enough room for us all. The bedrooms are all very spacious and each have their own bathroom with was great. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and more, it was very clean and tidy and tastefully decorated. it was lovely sitting in front of the fire on the cold nights. The scenery from the house is absolutely spectacular you can see the sea and the Burren which was just amazing. Ann the host was so lovely and very helpful, always there if you needed anything, and had a lovely welcome pack for us, including eggs homemade bread, tea, milk, butter all the essentials which was lovely to arrive to. She also showed us round the castle that is just down from the house, that was amazing to see. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.

Lovely home in a beautiful location
The house is set on a hill surrounded by farmland, with a view down to the ocean. The rooms are very spacious and comfortably furnished. There was plenty of room for our family of 7 to relax. The picnic table in the front yard was an added bonus for enjoying the sunset. There is also a gas grill which we took advantage of with burgers from the local butcher. Ann and Colin were very gracious hosts and attentive to our needs. Take advantage of the offer to tour Ballinalacken Castle. Doolin and Lisdoonvarna are a short drive. Cliffs, caves, and beaches are all nearby.

Very quiet location, clean, spacious, and fully equipped
My wife and I as well as our traveling friend stayed here for four nights in early June 2018. Everything about the house was as described, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. There is almost no traffic on the road in front of the cottage, and the views to the north, toward the Aran Islands are excellent. On a clear evening, the Connemara Mountains are visible. The owner's residence is close enough to add to the sense of safety, but far enough so that there is privacy also. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

3rd stay...simply beautiful
We stay with Ann every other fall and look forward to our visits. The home and views are amazing and Ann is the most gracious hostess in the world. We have come to count her as family! The Cliffs of Moher and shopping in Doolin are a must. We enjoy the pubs and always take a tour to the Burren. If you need a local tour guide, John Sheedy of Alamo Cabs is awesome! Can't say enough good things about County Clare. The people are warm and friendly, the landscape ruggedly beautiful, the setting romantic and relaxing. Ann will even give you a tour of their strong tower, which gives dramatic views of the surrounding countryside. It is like our second home. Gentian Cottage is centrally located to explore and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

A Dream Come True
Gentian Cottage provided a wonderful place for our adventures in Ireland. So close to the town of Doolin, with its wonderful, traditional music every night; the Aran Islands and all their wild splendor; the Burren; the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher (tip - take the coastal walkway, less touristy and so beautiful). The house itself had every amenity we could imagine, including incredible sunsets over the ocean. Ann O, our friendly and most gracious host, could not have been easier to deal with and was so helpful in so many ways.

Excellent Experiance
This cottage and the views are fantastic. You can sit for hours looking out at The Atlantic, The Aran Islands and Galway Bay. Ann was so helpful and friendly. She made our stay a wonderful experiance. The area where the cottage is located is a low traffic area so it is great for walkers. This was our fifth trip to Doolin. This Is were you want to be if you like Traditional Irish Music, traveling to The Aran Islands and walking along The Cliffs of Moher. The People of Doolin are warm, friendly and it is so easy to carry on a conversation with them.
