Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Absolutely beautiful cottage
Tyn Y Coed is a very special place, it’s the 5th time we have been there for our family holiday. It’s so peaceful and decorated to a very high standard. The beds are the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, the bedding is luxurious. The hot tub is amazing rain or shine ✨

Perfect cottage for a girls weekend!
This was our second stay at Tyn-Y-Coed cottage and we'll most definitely be back! The cottage is well equipped with everything that you need for a short break and has plenty of space for 6 people - the hot tub is the perfect addition to an already beautiful cottage too! Location is lovely and peaceful while still being close enough to local amenities.

Fabulous cottage!
What an amazing cottage in a fantastic location, we enjoyed an absolutely wonderful mini break at Tyn Y Coed Cottage to bring in the New Year! We made the most of the hot tub and the log fire for a relaxing stay to unwind and spend quality time together as a family. Our dog loved the garden and had best time playing fetch with the sticks he kept collecting! The cottage had everything we needed to make it the most delightful home from home, wonderful hosts - we were sad to leave! Highly recommend.

Fantastic, comfortable cottage
We stayed here as a family of 6 adults. The cottage had everything we needed, plenty of room and well equipped. The hot tub was a godsend after hours of hiking. The beds were extremely comfortable.

Beautiful peaceful cottage
This cottage is exactly as the photo. The kitchen is very well equipped, with everything you need for self catering. Has a good size bbq as well. We ate most of our meals there as we are very Covid aware. The beds are comfortable, and the bedrooms all have a tv; my daughter and husband had the one with the super big bed and bathroom just down the hall. We being older had the onsuite one. The two boys had the twin . The only draw back to the cottage is the very steep , narrow curving staircase which would be difficult for any one who is disabled. There is a big rope hand rail which certainly helped me. The fantastic thing about this cottage is the hot tub, which our two grandchildren absolutely loved as did the adults. Overall this cottage is situated in a beautiful area for walking cycling and general sightseeing. We had a wonderful holiday and all thanks to Lisa, who even supplied toys for the children , OH and I didn't mention the welcome basket of wine cheese, biscuits, etc

Perfect Getaway
We stayed here for 4 nights over Easter and we could have easily stayed a lot longer. The cottage is amazing, so cosy and well equipped. We really could not have asked for more. We loved the hot tub and our evenings around the log burner were perfect. The outside area was perfect for the children and for our dog who was in his element. The children were thrilled with the Wii and we all enjoyed a few games of Monopoly and Scrabble from the well stocked games cupboard. We will definitely be back, we didn't want to leave!

This place is excellent!!
Ok, so first the negatives: If its raining there isnt much to do outside!! And now the positives. The Cottage is situated down a remote lane - of which during the couple of days we didnt see anyone. The cottage has 3 double bedrooms, one en suite and a very large shower. Downstairs is a lovely farmhouse kitchen, welcoming you with a huge range type cooker, and enough cutlery to serve a small restaurant - washing machine, dishwasher and tumble dryer. A great sized lounge and 2 lovely settees large enough to cuddle up with a loved one, or sprawl out alone. The log burner not only provides loads of heat, but also provides entertainment for those not used to using a fire. Then venture outside (irrespective of the rain) and the Hot Tub, in the dark night with wind - makes a lovely place to sit and relax. The water was lovely. The owner has done alot to make this a home from home - with great welcoming service from the moment you book - friendly emails, directions and does everything to make you feel comfortable. Situated a short 10 mins drive from Sennybridge - a few pubs and takeaways and within easy reach of Brecon - we didnt eat in the Cottage, as we chose to venture out as there was a great selection - although, staying again and i am sure a lovely farmhouse breakfast would go down well. Had it not rained, we would have walked further down the lane. Overall a great place to stay, thorough enjoyed it and would love to go back. I think Christmas here, with family would be excellent.

Perfect relaxing break in a wonderful cottage.
We booked this charming cottage in the heart of the Brecon Beacons for a long weekend break at the beginning on October. Tyn Y Coed Cottage is set in its own lovely grounds with a small stream running along one side. The views are outstanding, especially first thing in the morning. The location is exceptionally quiet and private. The cottage itself is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The log burner was a real treat. There were only the two of us on this trip, but I'm sure that there would be plenty of room for parties occupying all of the 3 spacious bedrooms. Everything seems to have been thought of, and instructions for the heating, log burner, hot tub (my wife's new guilty pleasure) even recycling were clear and easy to follow. The quirky spiral staircase may present a problem for people with limited mobility, but these two creaky nearly 60s didn't have any issues. Having lost count of the number of times that I have been "beasted" up and down Pen y Fan, in my younger days, I was well aware of how the Brecon weather can be, but this weekend, even for October we were blessed with a couple of glorious sunny days. Sunday lunch in the Shoemakers Arms, a couple of miles away, was very good, and well worth the trip, but its a good idea to book in as much advance as possible. The pub is only small, and opening hours are limited. Brecon is only a 20 minute drive away, and a nice town to spend a couple of hours wandering around. We will certainly visit again. Next time with the grandchildren who will love the swings and trampoline in the gardens. Contact with Lisa , from the day of booking was excellent, and she obviously puts a lot of thought, time effort and money into making sure that the cottage is at the very top of its game, and it shows.

Lovely cottage for a family holiday.
Three generations had a lovely holiday in Tyn Y Coed with everything provided that we could need, plus a very welcome hamper on our arrival. The family loved the hot tub (even in the rain!), tyre swing and trampoline. The spiral stairs were a bit daunting at first, but we soon got used to them! There are a few pubs nearby in Sennybridge - we had a lovely meal in the Usk and Railway Inn.
