The well known pilgrimage trail ‘Chemin de St. Jacques de Compostelle’ (GR653) portrayed in the recent Hollywood film ‘The Way’ joins the GR36 in the communal forest of Cambounes. The area has several fresh water lakes with full amenities such as beach, life guards, restaurant, snack bar & water sports. The beautiful towns of Catres & Mazamet are only 20 mins drive. Both offer fresh markets, good shopping and great dining opportunities. The UNESCO world heritage sites of Carcassonne & Albi are 1 hour away. The capital of the region ‘La ville rose’ Toulouse is an hour and half to the west. The Mediterranean cities of Narbonne and Beziers are just an hour and half drive. The region has a proud rugby tradition and is host to several top league clubs such as Castres Olympique, Stade Toulousain, Albi and Montpellier. There are plenty of other interesting places to visit such as the Sidobre national park (and it's amazing granite rock formations), the Millau bridge, Roquefort, Lautrec, Gaillac, too many to mention here. Come and experience real French living in this unspoilt region.

Fantastic holiday, our eighth time to visit, we love it so much. Surrounded by lakes, forests and mountains it's an idyllic getaway. The property is perfect, everything you'll need to enjoy your holiday, highly recommended.
What a super holiday! Everything we wanted, get away from it all into the beautiful French countryside but still only a short train trip to Toulouse for the city experience. Long walks in the forest, lazy days at the lake, what more could you want!...More
All my partner and I wanted was a quiet retreat in the south of France, but Thyme holiday home is so much more than that! We stayed in the 3-tiered converted pigionnère which has a little garden and it felt utterly private and romantic! The...More

Tarn offers a beautiful living environment and is the perfect location for an activity holiday. Nature has kindly provided us with glorious hills and valleys offering an abundance of hiking & mountain biking trails. The rivers and lakes offer canoeing and swimming and water sports. The mountain roads are perfect for cyclists & offer plenty of challenges for the more serious cyclist. But apart from the range of activities it's a beautiful place to spend a relaxing holiday and just enjoy the scenery, the lovely places to visit and the renowned regional foods & wines.
Some of the great places to visit from our area;
The beautiful city of Albi with it's incredible cathedral (a UNESCO world heritage site / Castres with it's lovely old quarter & the famous Goya museum / the beautiful market town...
