Time to refuel
I had the chance to stay in March this year and it was a great combination of a modern, relaxing, off grid studio located in a beautiful environment ... with a surprising amount of wildlife.
It was really nicely removed from the daily stresses of city life ... and I found it entirely refuelling.
I'll definitely go back.

Elegance in the bush
What terrific luck to find this perfect bush hideaway. My husband and I were looking for peace, beauty and an environmentally inspired Kangaroo Island experience and our three days here gave us far more than we ever hoped for. Rob and Yael were thoughtful, responsive and discreet. Nothing was too much trouble, from the helpful tips to best appreciate the island, to the cut wood and set fire and the perfectly furnished villa. We loved waking up to the sounds of the bush and seeing the sun rise and set through the large picture frame windows.
We will definitely be factoring a return trip to this idyllic bush villa.

Peaceful luxury
Beautiful accommodation in a peaceful setting. Very well appointed. Extremely clean. Well decorated. Top quality appliances, bedding, towels etc. Rob and Yael were lovely hosts. We enjoyed the enormous bath, the weber bbq and the fireplace.
Overall one of the best places we have stayed and if we return to Kangaroo Island, we will not hesitate to stay there again.

Best place I've ever stayed at
I stay a lot in hotels, I'm almost living in hotels, and I was quite skeptical when I booked this villa. I shouldn't have been! It was the very best stay I ever had! The villa is super new, extremely clean, and very modern. The layout is fantastic, the kitchen is well equipped, and you can even do your laundry while there! The bathroom is a Zen master's dream come true: simple but absolutely beautiful. The location is otherworldly: the sunrise and sunset is breathtaking, and you get company too during those times of the day: kangaroos, wallabies, and other locals who are just a few yards away from your porch! I can't recommend enough this villa: it's something I wish I could live in!

Highly recommended!
What a stunning home and location on kangaroo island. Robert and Yael have constructed an amazing luxury, sustainable home that blends perfectly with the surroundings. Expect to see kangaroos everyday and you might get lucky and see some echidnas or koalas. There is a fireplace for the colder nights and an amazing bath that looks out to the stars. We stayed 3 nights and wish we had stayed many more. Highly recommended.

An absolutely beautiful location and property
Couldn't get enough of the large windows that bathed the villa in light and provided an excellent view to the nature and wildlife right outside our door. The freestanding bath and impeccable interior design felt incredibly luxurious. Would especially recommend to singles/couples looking for a quiet and relaxing time away from the bustle of everyday life.

Great romantic getaway!
We stayed here last weekend, and it is a great location. It is near Flinders Chase (where the marathon event is in September each year), but is also quite close to Seal Bay, the new brewery and KI Spirits! What more could you ask for!?
The place itself was superb. Super warm with log fire and great insulation (which you need in KI when it is not summer). It was immaculately clean, and the views were great. We ate breakfast watching wallabies, and even saw an echidna cruising around! Also a great place to get engaged :-)

Perfect bush hideaway
From the moment we arrived at Ecopia we were sad we would have to leave! The villa is gorgeously appointed; it's obvious a lot of though and care has gone into all of the details within. We loved waking up to the sights and sounds of the bush and being able to explore the property on foot. Soaking in the bath while looking out at beautiful landscape was the perfect was to end the day.

Lovely stay
We stayed for 2 nights at Villa Ada. The villa is well equipped and beautifully decorated. The views from the villa are lovely and we were lucky to have kangaroos feeding close to the villa. We could also hear koalas with either their territorial grunt or it was mating season. The peace and quiet of Ecopia is special. We have fond memories of sitting with a bottle of wine, fire going and all lights out inviting the night sky in. We will be back.

Magical
From the outset Yael made our stay an absolute delight. She went above and beyond to help me plan a surprise birthday weekend for my husband. The villa and location were stunning and exceeded my already high expectations. The welcome bottle of birthday wine waiting on the table was a lovely touch and the bespoke birthday dinner under the trees was delicious. The villa oozed style and comfort and we loved sitting on the deck watching the millions of stars put on their show. We'll be back in winter to laze around the cozy fire and explore more of KI.

How to get there
Ecopia Retreat is located on Gregors Road in the centre of Kangaroo Island. Heading west down South Coast Road, coming from Kingscote, Penneshaw, or the airport, once you see the Gregors Road sign post, turn right. Continue up Gregors Road for 5.6km or until you see another blue sign ‘KI Ecopia Retreat’. Turn left at this sign (this is the entrance to Ecopia Retreat and the neighbouring properties). Continue along the driveway for approximately 2km. Once you reach the 90 degree left hand bend, you will see a rammed-earth wall with a sign ‘Ecopia’ on it; continue straight ahead and simply follow the road across the lagoon to enter the magnificent Ecopia Retreat! Continue straight ahead to reach Residence Ecopia or take left at the fork in the road towards the Villas.
