Guests have to be at least 18 years of age at the time of booking
It is a quiet residential area so no parties and no excessive noise after 10pm
A maximum of two cars (the local car park is quite small).
Please use the patio door at the back of the property as the front door opens on to a busy road.
We had a lovely stay in the cottage, it had everything we needed for a short break. A couple of the bedroom radiators didn’t seem to work, but other than that it was faultless.
Although decor is a bit dated, with 3 main bedrooms and 2 more attic rooms there was plenty of space. Easy access to west lakes and on one day we did lovely circular walk straight from the house.

Had a great time our stay was excellent landlord couldn’t do enough, enjoyed going out to beach which is a short drive away, lovely places and towns to visit and beautiful scenery.
Just returned from this lovely cottage after a Christmas break. We were two families with 5 children between us (4 under 10's) so needed a decent space and this place was perfectly set up. Really well stocked with everything we needed (including the Christmas tree!)....More
The house is very easy to get to and is no more than a very short car ride to a lovely beach with an amazing backdrop of the hills.
You're not more than half an hour from Lake Coniston and Windermere just a little further,...More

About the neighbourhood
Bootle is inside the national park and also on the main road going north towards Workington.
There are a wealth of activities within the local area. Muncaster Castle is 3 miles away, Coniston Water, home to many famous water speed record attempts by Donald Campbell with a museum dedicated to this and also the famous artist John Ruskin. There is Wast Water, Cumbrian Heavy horses centre for a horse ride on the beach, Bootle, Ravenglass and Silecroft beaches, HardKnott Roman fort and spectacular pass. There are a plethora of mountain biking and hiking opportunities, and the house has maps showing these with Scafell Pike and the Old Man of Coniston close by, and Muncaster Cycle’s hiring bikes. There are several nearby outdoor activity centres
Getting around
There is no bus service through Bootle. There is a railway station at Bootle Station, around 1.5 miles away. It is a request stop so make sure you make that request! You can use the railway to get up and down the coast and there is the Eskdale railway you can change to at Ravenglass. You will have to arrange a taxi from the station to the house. Otherwise you would need a car.
