Brava is the smallest inhibited island of Cape Verde. Because it's remote and rough it is 'tranquilo'. Fantastic island for hiking and leaving the stress far behind...
The village of Fajã d'Agua is built alongside one of the most beautiful bays of Cape Verde. Some more houses are glued against the slopes of the mountains. One of these houses (including terraces for agricultural use) is Kaza di Zaza.
The Dutch owners Erick and Marijke live permanently in Kaza di Zaza, and named the estate after the seller.

The ground floor of Kaza di Zaza contains a separate apartment: Kaza Baixo (meaning: the house downstairs). It's a 2-room-apartment with kitchenette, shower, toilet and electricity. And of course every day the most beautiful sunset, enjoyed while sitting on your own veranda.

Next to the main house there's a smal...

It is not easy to get to the island of Brava and the boat arrives late at night, but it is worth it !!! We stayed in Kaza Pikinoti for a few days in May but we would have liked to stay there forever. Kaza...More

We were looking for a place to relax in and explore, without the common trappings of modern tourism and we couldn,t have been happier with our choice. The owners, who stayed up late into the night to welcome us, were very hospitable, always being there...More

About the neighbourhood
Fajã d'Água is a sleepy fishing village on a beautyfull bay, surrounded by huge mountains. A dried ribera splits the village in two. This ribera provides a great hike to the top of the island. Once we calculated that you need at least two weeks of daily hiking, to see all the island. But you can stay on sea level and enjoy it, too! The one sandy beach of Brava can be reached from Fajã d'Água, after one hour walking, close to the ocean. The natural piscine of Brava is also located in Fajã d'Água. In weekends it can be quite crowded with locals from all the island. On weekly days it's deserted and you can have your private pool.

How to get there
Depending on how many islands you want to explore in how much time, you could think about visiting just the Sotavento Islands Mayo, Santiago, Fogo (vulcano!) and Brava. Or just stay at Brava, of course... Brava is the most remote, so we would advice you to start there anyway. Look at our Kaza di Zaza website first, or contact us directly for the most recent travel possibilities.
