Flo's Cottage is a 19th century, south facing, agricultural estate workers' cottage. This two bedroomed cottage has been renovated to a high standard by the owners. It retains many of the original features: beamed ceilings, open cast-iron fireplaces and the charm and relaxed atmosphere of a rural setting.

Hallway and Cloakroom
The hallway is off the living room, leading to the stairs and downstairs cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin.
Bathroom
The family bathroom, has a bath with an electric shower over, WC and wash hand basin.
Bedroom one
Traditionally furnished with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Travel cot available. Towels and bed linen provided

Full size double bed with single bed above, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Towels and bed linen provided

What a fabulous place to rest , sleep and unwind . The cottage is 1 st class , looks and feels new. The beds are super comfy . The garden is a joy , you can hear birds singing and not much else. The cookies and tea/ coffee available on arrival an added bonus. Rates very good for such a special place . Highly recommend . Jools x

Estupenda casa con un fantástico jardín, tienes todo lo necesario para pasar tus vacaciones. Los dueños son encantadores y muy serviciales, viven al lado, pero no les notarás. La vivienda está muy limpia, y tiene muchos detalles que te harán sentir como en casa. Indispensable coche. Si vas por Newark este es tu lugar.

A home from home! Amazing Cottage
My wife and I have been fortunate enough to have stayed at Flo's Cottage 3 or 4 times now as it is such an amazing place as a holiday base. So comfortable, well equipped, in a great location and has the best hosts you could ever ask for!!! Thank you, John and Heather. We look forward to visiting again the next time we are in the Newark area.

We felt at home, the owner was an exquisite courtesy, the delightful house above the spectacles, everything was taken care of and new easy to reach and for our needs in an ideal location.
We appreciated the tranquility of the place, the kindness of the owner, and the house that will surely be our first choice for the future.

Delightful Cottage
We stayed here for one week, the cottage is exceptionally well equipped and has a beautiful garden. It is full of character and just perfect as a base for exploring the area. The owners live next door and are very welcoming. We would highly recommend staying here.

Home from Home
We had a lovely midweek break, Heather was there to greet us and show us around. The cottage is comfortable, homely, very well equipped and has a spacious garden the welcome pack was very good.
Averham is a small village near the river, the pub is about a mile away and served good food.
Southwell is close for shopping as is Newark with it's market days. It is an ideal base to visit Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire Wildlife Park at Doncaster.
Flo's is an ideal place to relax, so peaceful, we would highly recommend.

A very comfortable and well appointed cottage in an ideal position for us
Very close to good pub and all necessary shops in Newark and also plenty of interesting places to visit. Good walking along the Trent accessible from the cottage on foot. John is very welcoming and friendly.

Flo's cottage
We spent two weeks on this peaceful place. Owner very kind and cottage well equipped. Located close to Newark with in the headboard many attraction to visit.

Flo's Cottage is situated in the quiet village of Averham just 5 minutes walking distance from the River Trent. The Norman church sits on the bank of the river with views of the market town of Newark. There are two restaurants in the neighbouring village of Kelham: The Kelham House Country Manor Hotel and The Fox pub are within walking distance (one mile) of the cottage.
There are shops and supermarkets in Southwell (Co-op) and the larger town of Newark (Morrisons, Asda and Waitrose) On arrival there will be a welcome pack: milk, bread, cheese, tea, coffee.
The area is ideal for walking and cycling with many marked footpaths and bridleways including the Trent Way.
In the nearby villages and towns there are golf courses, leisure centres with swimming pools and a full range of sporting activities, horse riding and boat trips along the river. There are a range of family activity/attractions within a radius of ten miles. Southwell Racecourse with its all weather track hosts racing across the year. The cottage has a folder of local attractions and there is a local tourist office near Newark Castle Railway Station.
The market town of Newark on Trent just 4 miles away, has three bustling market days per week Weds, Fri and Sat, set in the magnificent Georgian market square. The Riverside Park and Castle hold many events throughout the summer and visitors can watch an array of boats passing through the locks while walking along the riverside pathways. Newark hosts Europe's largest antique fair which is held six times a year and Newark Showground is a venue for many interesting events.
There are many restaurants and bars catering for all tastes and pockets. A newly opened multi screen cinema and a ten-pin bowling alley, museums and theater provide a wealth of entertainment.
