Casa 23 boasts magnificent uninterrupted views across the valley of Lake Viñuela to Mount Maroma. It is stepped into the hillside on the outskirts of the typical Spanish village of Los Romanes. Casa 23 is a whitewashed villa with private pool with shallow steps into the graduated pool. The many large terraces and garden offer choice and space! Lake Viñuela offers water sports, sailing, kayaking and fishing. There are many splendid walks around the lake and in spring the wild flowers are bountiful.

I provide a flexible check in time so that you don't have to worry about having a late flight and checking out at 10 in the morning!
We provide a welcome pack of food depending on the time of arrival geared to your needs at no extra cost.
We provide kitchen basics of tea, coffee, sugar, etc and some herbs and spices.
I will proved directions to the house and where to find the key on arrival.
My neighbours are on hand for emergencies and are a font of knowledge regarding local fiestas etc..
If you need any assistance booking tickets or advice on days out please feel free to ask me and I will endeavour to help.

We stayed at the fabulous villa for 10 days as a couple and can honestly say, having chased tranquility around the world, this is the most relaxing place we have ever been. The location is second to none and you just cannot get tired of the beautiful views. The only sounds we heard were the birds and the breeze through...

One of those beautiful locations that make you double take each time you look at the view. Very peaceful but close enough to the lake, beach and amenities to keep our 5 and 3 year old entertained. We even made great day trips to Granada and Gibraltar which are in range. Really recommended.

We had a fantastic 10 night stay at Casa 23, The villa is beautiful and well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay ,the additional towels and toiletries provided were a real bonus and less weight in your suitcases. Sue the owner left us with a lovely welcome pack, as we arrived late in the evening so had...

About the neighbourhood
Los Romanes is a typical Spanish village and is famous for its olives. The local olive press provides some of the best olive oil in the region. There are 2 small shops providing your basic needs. There is also a newly opened bakery which has artisan breads, get there early to avoid disappointment! There is a Hotel with a restaurant, an open air bar in the village square and of course El Charco restaurant (Miguel's). All are within a short walk from Casa 23. On the lakeside are 2 further restaurants and across the lake are further small supermarkets and bars. The larger hypermarket is in Torre del Mar about 15 mins drive. La Vinuela is just a short drive away where there is the post office, pharmacy and bank with ATM and of course bars!
Getting around
The easiest way of seeing the whitewashed villages of the Axarquía is by car. I would say that a car is essential, however, we have had guests come by taxi and survive from the local amenities. Casa 23 provides an excellent base to explore Andalucia. Granada is only 1hour 30mins drive, Sevilla, 3hours, Córdoba 3hours and of course Malaga 50mins. There are numerous bus routes from Torre del Mar and the train station at Málaga can get you to Madrid in 4 hours on the AVE.

Fly to Malaga airport. - Casa 23 is located approximately 50mins from airport (46miles / 70km). Malaga airport is regularly served by many budget airlines. EasyJet, Ryanair, Monarch etc from many local airports. Car Hire is essential. The drive to the villa is on good roads the main autovía from Malaga to Nerja, then a short drive on good roads to the village of Los Romanes which is approximately 15mins from the exit off the autovía. I will provide directions before your holiday.
