There is also a separate utility / laundry room.The living room features a wood-burning stove and flat screen TV with French doors out into the well-maintained garden. An enclosed garden is to the side of the cottage. There is a newly refurbished family bathroom with bath and separate shower. The cottage is on one level, so is ideal for anyone with mobility issues or disabilities, although assistance may be required. I’mMore

This is a splendid wee cottage. Half of the old station building with the platforms still outside, although the track is a drying area and a wee enclosed grassy area the dog just loved. Immaculately clean, reassuring in this climate. Gloriously comfortable beds and furniture....More

The Machars Peninsula features some unsploit and stunning sandy beaches as well as rugged coastline. A 15-minute drive from Kilfillan Cottage is Wigtown, Scotland's National Book Town, with its osprey visitor centre in the imposing gothic style County Buildings. Close to Wigtown is Scotland's most southerly whisky distillery, Bladnoch, which houses a visitor centre and shop.
