My gîte was awarded 3 stars in 2016 and so has a guarantee of comfort. It sleeps 4 adults but there is a child bed and a cot as well. Cyclists welcome, secure bike storage, fully equipped laundry and plans of local bike routes. Dogs welcome, kennel with outside run available for when they have to stay behind. Plans of local walking routes available (mostly off-road) Children welcome. Lots of toys and games, games room, outdoor sanded playground and inflatables for the pool. Fans for summer and electric heaters for winter. Windows are double glazed so you can keep cosy in colder months. Fully equipped kitchen including a 4-drawer freezer, wok, slow cooker, pressure cooker and if you can't find something I've probably got one next door in my kitchen! For the summer months there is a BBQ on...My gîte was awarded 3 stars in 2016 and so has a guarantee of comfort. It sleeps 4 adults but there is a child bed and a cot as well. For the summer months there is a BBQ on the terrace next to your table and 4 outdoor chairs. It is a good base to visit Puy du Fou (40 mins) or Futuroscope (90 mins) and there is plenty to see and do in the area. Bedlinen, towels and bathmats are provided and electricity is included in the price. Parking is off road, adjacent to the gîte. If you leave the gîte clean and tidy at the end of your stay then the cleaning fee is returned to you. A local tourist tax is levied at the end of your stay (75c per adult per night)More

Interaction with guests
I live next door and am available most of the time for help and advice. I know the area well and the things you can do, where to shop, eat out, fish, play tennis or whatever you are hoping to do. If there are things you need which are not in the gite then I can usually lend them to you from the house. I am happy to arrange a boules match with the French neighbours, a visit from their 2 horses or a tour of the farm for people who are interested. If you prefer to be left alone, I won't play the happy camp organiser!

A lovely Gite in beautiful, rural surroundings. Ample space and good facilities, from the Natural swimming pool to the sports room, ideal for those days when the weather is less forgiving. The accommodation is "Dog Friendly" and there is a designated dog walking area. The...More

About the neighbourhood
The local area is hilly (the French call them mountains!) very interesting for walking and good for cyclists who like a challenge. Two of the biggest attractions in France are within reach: Futuroscope (90 mins) and Puy du Fou (40 mins) The huge canal system of the Marais Poitevin (40 mins) with its calm waterways overhung by willows is good to visit at any time of year but fabulous in hot weather when you can cool off by hiring a boat for an hour or two and punting slowly in the shade. There are frequent local food and bric-a-brac markets, interesting old castles, zoos and aquaria, Ostich farms and many many festivals (music, dance, art , street theatre...) Don't miss the free games festival in Parthenay in June.
Getting around
The area is crisscrossed with marked paths and cycle routes so exploring locally on foot or bike is easy. However there is no other transport apart from your own car for visiting the many attractions and beautiful scenery in the Gatine and in the wider region
