Inside the fully air conditioned house, the master bedroom which is well placed away from the other bedrooms for added privacy, features a walk in robe and an extra large ensuite with double shower. There are two more double bedrooms with queen beds and storage and a fourth bedroom with two singles that can be zipped into a king on request. The bedrooms have been artfully decorated in keeping with the Queensland climate and benefit from blackout plantation shutters. A full family bathroom is serviced by a shower and separate bath. The house has been designed and built by a local award winning building company specially to capture the welcome cooling breezes and beautiful views of the Melaleuca trees. Guests also enjoy free access to the Oceans Edge Health Club including fully equipped gym, 25 meter lap pool, sauna and timetabled classes only 2 minutes walk away at the country club (not incl. squash). It's four bedroom sister house "Sandcastles" is only a couple of meters away which would afford 8 bedrooms if they were booked together. An easy 25-minute drive from Cairns City, Palm Cove is one of the most loved resort beach towns, it's bounded by the lush tropics of Macalister Range National Park, and its palm-fringed esplanade and patrolled swimming beach graces many a postcard. Combine this with boutique shopping and world-class dining, and you have one destination you will be in no rush to leave. The best places to explore from Palm Cove: One of Australia's biggest drawcards, the Great Barrier Reef traverses a whopping 2,300 kilometres and can be seen from outer space. The colourful marine life and reef system can be explored either by boat or up in the air, but our advice is to gear up and dive in with one of the many operators in and around Palm Cove. Quicksilver Group offer a variety of tours that will take you snorkelling, diving or for a cruise amongst the islands. There is no better way to explore this region than by water. Join a tour or go-it-alone, it is a water wonderland that is just begging to be explored. 5* Accommodation for families

Absolutely loved our stay at Castaways in Sept 2018. There were 4 of us adults and 2 kids aged 3.5years (6 in total) and the house had plenty of space. There is a cupboard full of board games and toys for the kids so don’t pack too many of your own. The house was spotless (other than the ceiling fans) but they were on most of the time so you couldn’t really tell. Oh and the little ants.... especially in the main room - but nothing a little fly spray couldn’t manage. LOVE LOVE LOVED the use of the stroller onsite for the long walks and the inflatable pool toys. Also couldn’t have survived without the complimentary esky for use while we were there! It allowed for many packed picnics by the beach and lagoon in cairns! We packed a few dvds for the kids but they weren’t required as the house had a great selection of its own! Plus Foxtel and movies on demand which was great once the kids had gone to sleep! Even got to sample some of the passion fruit that was growing on the back fence vine with our breakfast! There is a small pond at the rear of the property (external) which provides so much life and resource to the local wildlife. We got to see tadpoles, frogs, birdlife and even a couple of kangaroos over the back fence early in the mornings. Overall a 5 Star stay for families and would highly recommend Castaways. We will be back...
