Il Tribbio is a beautiful antique,indipendent, 'casale' with a large fenced swimming pool (5x12 mt), 1km away (walking distance!) from the village of San Giovanni d'Asso (Community of Montalcino) in the heart of Siena countryside. The house is suitable for a party of 10 (5 AC bedrooms,5 bathrooms) Nestled in a fenced olive grove with a large lawn just in front of the house, words can't even describe the beauty of the view. HOUSE: Ground Floor: A doorway from the terrace opens up to a beautiful living room. A large kitchen and dining area is off of the living room and a guest bath is concealed behind a trompe l'oeil door in the living room. A second entrance from the front gardens into a spacious living room with fireplace and on to the fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Beyond the back door is a small terrace. An ancient travertine stone staircase leads you to the first floor. First Floor: There is a second large living room with two sofas centered around the fireplace, two double AC bedrooms with en suite baths, an AC twin/king bed room and a bathroom in the hallway. From the second living room - at the top of the staircase you find a beautiful double bedroom, a twin/king bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower and another bathroom with shower. Both bedrooms have air conditioning. POOL HOUSE: Located in the front of the pool, to the side of the house is another outdoor living area that includes a loggia with a large table that can accommodate10 guests. The pool is located in the garden with a paved surround furnished with loungers and parasols. The water can be accessed by ladder steps and there is a covered terrace with a table and chairs just a few steps away. The pool house has a bathroom with shower. Pool Size: 10m x 6m, 1.2m - 2.5m deep. The pool area is fenced. About the neighbourhood
The nearest town is San Giovanni d'Asso (Community of Montalcino), which is about 2 km away. It's possible to walk there along a main road which isn't busy but which does have a certain amount of traffic. The village is pretty and has several amenities including a grocer, bar/café, a couple of restaurants and some other shops. For a wider choice of amenities, you need to go to Montalcino or Buonconvento, both about 20 km away. The Val d'Orcia is an enchanting and miraculously unspoilt valley in southern Tuscany, listed as UNESCO world heritage in 2004. Montalcino, Siena, Pienza, Cortona, Arezzo, Orvieto, San Gimignano, Volterra, Perugia, Viterbo and a wealth of sites and attractions are within easy reach.
Getting around
A good painter,English speaking, can offer painting lessons at the house:watercolour and oil for beginners,advanced students and even for children.A nice souvenir of your holiday! You can enjoy exquisite meals prepared by a very good cook who also offers cooking lessons. A truffle tour with the truffle hunter Paolo and his dogs is a different unmissable experience to do in this area famous for these precious underground mushrooms. Wine,oil and truffle tastings are highly recommended! This area of Tuscany with its spectacular views is beloved by photographers, painters and cyclists.
