Have you ever wished you could experience the real Greece? Here in Ayia Kyriaki you will be in a traditional cottage that is in easy access of beaches, the port, Monemvasia and the rest of the Peloponnese.

This is a house for someone who wants to live in a village and experience the sounds and life of a Greek village. You'll see farmers taking their goats up and down the mountain. You'll also enjoy the sights of the ladies of the village chattering together on their verandas and walking down to the church together to light a candle.

The cottage has two main rooms, one with a double bed and the other with a single bed and a pull out sofa bed and folding single beds. The bathroom has a bath and shower, toilet and sink and a washing machine. We have mains water. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, fridge/freezer...

I stayed here for a week at the end of August. It really is a very special place. Tucked well away from the frenetic tourism of much of Greece in the summer months, it draws you into an entirely different, slower and more simple pace...More

We had a wonderful family holiday in this special , traditional Greek cottage. The neighbors were particularly friendly and welcoming. The cottage is in a quiet part of Monemvasia, but close enough to the shops and Restaurants of this pretty harbour village.and within walking distance...More

About the neighbourhood
Avia Kyriaki is situated 1.5km from Monemvasia and is home to a farming community who have lived in the area for over 200 years. The area is popular with the Greeks and a few European tourists. The area offers great mountain walks where you can collect wild mountain tea, oregano and sage. There are many beaches, both sandy and pebbly. Pori beach has some of the most beautiful stones in the world and has a beach bar in the summer. It is also fun to swim off the rocks at Kokoula across the causeway towards Monemvasia.The rock of Monemvasia has a causeway to approach it. For centuries Monemvasia has been a shelter from siege. How to get there
Daily flights to Athens with Aegean, British Airways , Ryan Air & Easy Jet. Car hire at the airport takes 4/5 hours to drive to Monemvasia following the E65 highway from the airport across the Corinth Canal, through Tripoli, Sparti, the Tygatus mountains, Skala, Molai and down to Monemvasia. Ayia Kyriaki is the village on the right handside just before you come into Monemvasia. Coach/bus from airport to Kiffisso bus station where you will catch coach to Monemvasia - takes 5 to 6 hours - Euros 32. Or we can arrange a taxi from the airport that can take you direct to the village - 4 hours. (Euros 220) It is also possible to share a taxi from the city of Athens to the cottage for Euros 40 each.
