Alva's apartment is just outside the walls of Wat Suan Dok and you wake to hear the monks chanting and the bells on the temple chiming.
The apartment is comfortable, quiet, secure and brand new. The swimming pool was about to completed.
We are a retired couple who want to live in a neighborhood rather amidst the tourists so this place was great. There is a small open air community center at the end of the block that have traditional music on the weekends and be sure to have a banana pancake at the vendor nearby.
Transportation is by the red trucks and it is easy to get into the old city for 20 baht.
There is a great central market nearby for fresh fruit and vegetables for your own cooking, the cookware is very limited and should be improved. We ate in the small restaurants in the neighborhood about half the time. The upscale section is very close on Ninman Road....a short red truck ride away.
