Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Stylish, Quiet & Great location
Thanks for a fantastic stay! The apartment is stylish, quiet, well furnished with comfy beds and nice big shower! The location is great, particularly for foodies with great cafes and restaurants right outside. Only a short walk to everything - very close to the Galata Tower, across the river to all the tourist attractions and great shopping around the corner. We also did the orientation walk organised by the apartment owners and had a fabulous time, finding out all the local hidden gems. The little cafe around the corner (Privato Cafe) is fantastic - wonderful food and great hospitality. We loved it and will be back.

Great place to stay
We had a great time at the flat. The location is great. There is a wonderful restaurant just around the corner. The apartment is beautifully appointed and the service was excellent.

Charming apartments!
We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for our recent 7-day trip to Istanbul. These apartments are absolutely gorgeous -beautifully decorated, very modern, eclectic and full of character. The apartments are very clean and well equipped. The location of the apartments is also perfect -walking distance from the main areas in Istanbul.
Tarkan and Julia were very nice and made the booking process very smooth. I highly recommend these apartments if you are travelling with a group of friends or family!

Perfection - (no need to look further)
So - if you are reading this you are looking for an apartment in Istanbul - and my advice is get in quick because it truly doesn't get any better than this. From the first communication with Tarkan you know you are in good and highly professional hands. Besides an elegant and beautifully furnished and equipped apartment in a perfect location you also have access to excellent services including airport pickup and private tours that allow you to explore the 'real' Istanbul. As Tarkan promised Galata is the perfect place to base yourself to explore the city. It has a great history and there is still a wonderful community feel about the area. The apartment is equipped like a home - the kitchen has all you will need and the bathroom is generous and has a great shower . All the other important elements for a comfortable stay are there -comfy beds and sofa, fresh cotton sheets , top quality white goods.Really we just felt like our home had been transported from one beautiful city (Sydney) to another. Accommodation isn't everything though - travel is about the great people you meet along the way and through this booking we met 2 of the best. Duygu met me on arrival and provided all the support and information about the apartment and the area.Duygu and the equally wonderful Necla also provide the personalised walks including orientation; foodie and artisan. Duygu and Necla are intelligent, sophisticated women who are passionate about exposing visitors to the hidden delights of Istanbul culture and history. Our time with them was the highlight of our visit - walking the back streets, meeting wonderful and talented people and eating some of the best food we have ever had. What could be better? You can take in all the 'must do' sights of Istanbul in a day but if you really want to know what Istanbul is all about go on these walks. We love Istanbul and our time there and most of that is due to Tarkan and the team at Istanbul Place -don't look further

A very pleasant experience...good location, comfortable apartmen
The two bedroom apartment on the second floor of an old building has been renovated, is very modern, very clean and pleasant with a well equipped kitchen, TV, WiFi etc, a nice assortment of guide books... A good place to rest after many hours of sightseeing and treasure hunting!
The location is very convenient, in walking distance to Galata Square and a little further to Galata Bridge, Taksim Square...
The staff has been wonderful, friendly and warm, offering to help when needed and giving good advice for places to eat. Cafe Privato around the corner was an extra bonus for us!

Quite hideaway in a vibrant area
Monika (part of the Istanbul Place team) greeted us and was most helpful with suggestions and ideas.
Apartment was on first floor, but our 81 year old mother coped well with gently spiraling staircase from entrance.
Lovely little cafes directly outside apartment, but not noisy and only open late at weekend. Easy walking access to Tunel (5 mins for shops), Taksim (10 mins), Galata Tower (5mins), Metro station (sishane 5 mins, Grand Bazaar 10 min walk (to Ortakoy)and 5 min tram journey). Tunel bars, cafes and restaurants lively at night. As ever (we have been to Istanbul many times) everyone is welcoming and food fantastic. If you want your breakfast with fantastic view, go to Galata Kanok Cafe and go to 3rd floor out on to terrace - a gem!
Summary - a lovely little hideaway but with easy access to vibrant world of sound, colour and taste

Exactly what we were looking for!
We travelled to Istanbul with our two kids, ages 9 and 12. The Sahkulu Place II apartment had the space and all the amenities to provide for a comfortable stay. We loved the neighborhood the apartment was in with all the little shops and cafes, and the close proximity to public transport. Monica, who showed us the apartment on the first day, was wonderful in quickly responding to our emailed questions about walking tours, where to find the dervish demonstrations, etc. We can't wait to come back again.

wonderful experience. once more... thanks!
we've stayed at pasha flat about four year ago and it was a super-good experience. really made our stay in istanbul so special -- especially as we came with two young children (9 and 7 at the time) and it was so convenient to stay "at home", leave "home" come back "home" etc. Was really super.
So when we planned our trip to Istanbul this time round, i immediately knew istanbul!place would be my first port of call. took time to get their reply (it was election time...) so i searched and searched, a bit worried they may have shut down and left business. But that's why, when Tarkan emailed... i was sooo relieved. i felt like our stay in istanbul is a sure success already.
And it was. from a to z. we got a smaller flat this time, but just right for our needs. the street was still nicer, and the flat just as nice, perhaps even better, though with none of that wonderful view. Duygu, who welcomed us, couldn't be more welcoming or helpful (including email with tons of restaurant recommendations, as requested). In short... can't recommend more heartly.
and can't wait for our next istanbul visit. hopefully, much less than four years lapse in between!
and... oh, istanbul! i did forget how wonderful it is. So that... well, an added bonus ;-)
Thanks and all very best Tarkan and team -- keep up!

Great location and Character
My husband and I spent 6 nights at this Beyoglu location, a couple of blocks up from Galata Tower and a few blocks below Istiklal Street. We walked down to the tram below at the end of Galata Bridge to see all the sites in Old Town. The climb back up is steep and when we were lazy, we caught the Tunel to the top of Istiklal and walked down the few blocks. There are a number of restaurants recommended by the agent very close to the apartment (we liked Cafe Privato, Cafe Pepo not so much). We easily walked to Lokanta Maya one night and Meze by Lemon Tree another - both wonderful meals. The apartment has a lot of character - look for the bronze dragon door handle as an example, with high ceilings. The building is quite old, the exterior and hallway not so nice, and can be noisy with all the nearby activities. But everything is quiet by 11 so sleeping was not a problem. Duygu, who met us at the apartment and was just a phone call away when we needed something or had a question was wonderful.
