FAMILY HOLIDAY WITH 17 YEAR OLD SON AND HUSBAND
Do not stay in Dubrovnik Old town BUT stay here in Lapad where it is cooler and quieter, in 'Apartment Pleasant' with the personal great service of Sandra (always available be for questions and quick to respond and help). She picked us up from the airport and was very welcoming and helpful taking us to the supermarket on the way to the flat. She even had some, grapes, wine and beer in the fridge for us waiting for us . The immaculately clean flat was all we needed in a great location with views of the harbour, beautiful bridge and mountains over a few attractive red rooftops and greenery. TV was very popular in the living room and the 2nd bedroom. We loved sitting out on the balcony for meals chats and drinks watching the yachts and ships come and go. The 2 bedrooms were excellently stocked with storage and very comfortable large beds all in simple clean modern tasteful style. A good sized living room diner with a small well stocked kitchen off it leading to a lovely large private terrace with a beautiful chimneyed barbie to cook your Croation fish or meats on. You could get Sarah's husband to cook a lovely fish on request if you so wish to mix with the locals.The Bathroom has a bath with a very powerful hand held shower which we looked forward too after snorkelling or bus rides on the Number 6 bus to and from buzzing stunning Dubrovnik Old town.
Near by in the 5-10 minutes opposite direction from the port we also had many restaurants to choose from (our favourite and very friendly was the Mexican opposite Hotel Zagreb). a good Tommy supermarket for all you needs. There were beaches also within walking distance with great fun activities on the sea for all the family. You can book trips locally too out to islands. Read the reviews on trip advisor to make a wise choice on these of your group's needs.. There are water sports from Lapad beach. We researched the jet skiing and found Dubrovnik Jet Ski on Lapad beach and a young man took us on a personal safari in the evening to where we chose and this was the highlight of the sea side of the holiday. The views from the cable car over Dubrovnik old town are stunning. My recommendations for the Dubrovnik old town city wall tour is to definitely do it at 8-9am in the morning for a really enjoyable trip then look at the sites. The views are stunning over the roof tops and out to sea.
I would highly recommend the flat as it was easy on the No 6 bus to get in to the Beautiful Dubrovnik Old town and escape to the beach and other activities within walking distance from the flat. There are lots of options to see in Dubrovnik and trips away to the Islands. A week is a a good length of time to spend here.

Excellent apartment for four people with a great location, facilities and view!
Sandra and her son Antonio are lovely people and were perfect hosts. Always quick to respond to questions and in our case were kindly flexible in regard to check in/out times due to our early arrival and later departure. The apartment is exactly as described and was ideal for our party of four adults. It was clean, the beds are super comfy, the bathroom is ok and the kitchen although small is well equipped with everything you'd need to make breakfast etc, it has a side door which opens to a delightful and surprisingly private vine coved patio area, perfect for breakfast or you could choose to use the wood fired BBQ for a home cook evening of local fish! (Antonio offered to help with this.) Leading out from the living area is a balcony, it was big enough for the four of us to sit around a table and enjoy a great view of the harbour. Countless boats and ships come and go and the really big cruise ships dock on the opposite side most evenings and early mornings, do bring some binoculars - it'll keep you entertained while sipping your evening G&T! The apartment is located in a very nice residential area. A few minutes walk will give you access to everything you'll need like shops, supermarkets, many restaurants and bus transport to the old town - although we walked it in 40 mins. Just at the end of the road is a Japanese restaurant, also attached to this is the very reasonable Buono restaurant, the food here - especially the pasta and gnocchi - is excellent and is a reasonable price. (Dubrovnik is quite expensive to eat out especially if fine dining, however plenty of reasonably priced restaurants can be found.) The nearest beach with facilities is over on the west side near the Grand Hotel Park and is all newly developed. However we preferred to take the path down to the Marina dock side turn left and walk the scenic path around the coast. It's a beautiful walk looking over to the bridge and here you will find countless places to set up camp and go for a swim etc including some areas with facilities and sunbed hire. You can walk right around the Babin Kuk peninsular in about an hour or so. - Enjoy!!

Great Apartment close to all amenities
We stayed here for 10 nights, Sandra was very welcoming, the apartment was clean and spacious, with a balcony with amazing views over the the port where we watched the cruise ships coming and going, there was also a garden (with lots of wonderful stuff growing in it) with seating area and outside bbq (i recommend the butchers at end of street, we had steak 3 times done on bbq - amazing!!) we had a very comfortable stay here. Location was perfect, 5min walk to bus stop which took you into dubrovnik centre in 10 mins (also meet here for day trips) small supermarket in the street, larger supermarket (tommy) 10 min walk, about 15min walk to the beach, along this walk you will find lots of bars and restaurants, alot cheaper than in dubrovnik old city!! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a base to explore this beautiful country.

Apartment Pleasant stay is located in a quiet neighborhood in the city of Dubrovnik, only 3 kilometers from the Old Town. This makes it a perfect location for a relaxing holiday in a nice, quiet area close to the beaches and away from the rush of the city center, but still close enough so that you can easily get there within 15 minutes by bus. Beautiful beaches Copacabana and Cava are less than a 20 minute walk away. Closest grocery shop is only 100m away from the apartment and famous fish restaurant and Yacht club Orsan only 400m.
Lapad bay with its famous promenade, many cafes and restaurants and beautiful beach - Sunset Beach is also within 10 minutes walk, where you can also enjoy the beautiful summer evenings.
Getting around
Bus stop for bus number 6 which goes to the Old Town every 10 minutes is only 300m away and the ride takes 15 min. On the same stop you can also catch bus number 7 which goes to the main bus station and the port.
