Amazing views from an apartment in a traditional stone house
This is a huge apartment with wonderful wooden flooring, traditional furniture, lovely high ceilings giving you a great sense of space, with the most amazing views of the fjord of Kotor, Massive beds with fantastic egyptian cotton linen and plenty of storage space. Very pleasant bathroom with a super strong shower. Good kitchen facilities, however, there is no need to use them as Jadranka and Voja who are neighbours are happy to provide whatever food you require, breakfast, lunch or dinner at very reasonable prices - beware of the rakia and slivovitz that they are far too generous with! plus be prepared for your waistline to expand with Jadrankas massive portions of fantastic food.
We had a car and Kotor ( a spectacular walled city) is just 10 mins away and the exciting Porto Montenegro is just 15 mins away, but there is also a bus service from outside the apartment to the whole of the Bay for 1 euro. There is a shop below the apartment and many bars and restaurants all within walking distance along the beachfront.
Simply cannot wait to return.

This is heaven
Proper old style town house with a spacious apartment taking up the whole upper floor. Cool in the daytime heat, aided by aircon if needed. Incredible views of Kotor bay and a calm oasis of sea to jump into outside the front door.
The area is frequented by locals and each house has a deck or jetty with access to the clear bay waters. Everything is relaxed, tradtional and classy....and at a fair price.
In 11 nights here we never ran out of things to do or see....beaches, mountains, bars, restaurants, Unesco old cities (which defy beauty), its green not arid and a very well kept secret. As a treat we did a half day sea fishing and a speed boat trip, at full throttle around the bays
Thanks Mr & Mrs Head for sharat ng the love of Montenegro with us

Beautiful apartment in stunning location
We stayed here as a family of 6 in September 2019 but I'm only getting around to my review now. We had a wonderful visit to Montenegro and really enjoyed our trip. The beds were really comfortable and the the views from the apartment were just breathtaking. Fully deserving of all the rave reviews below.
Two of the bedrooms are huge and one is very small. The kitchen is small but functional but we mostly ate out at one of the Kenobas further up the road.. turn right when you leave the property towards Kotor and it's the second Kenoba. The bathroom was nice but it doesnt have a window so it smelled a bit of stale water drains. Not terrible but not pleasant either.
There is no tv in the apartment. I queried this with owner and his answer was that the property is advertised without a tv. This is clearly not the case as I see it's still listed in the amenities here on trip adviser where we made our booking. We managed without it but just to make you aware there is none.
We had a problem with the Wi-Fi not working one day. It's was fixed 24 hours later but not before I ran up a huge bill on my phone turning on my data to contact the owner. Beware...roaming charges in Montenegro are astronomical.
There is one air conditioning unit in the living room. It's old and a bit noisy and while it does cool that room it didn't do much to cool the main bedroom. We did open the windows to cool the rooms down but ended up with a couple of mosquitoes who spent a few days chewing us to bits as we tried to sleep.
The outdoor terrace is really lovely but would benefit from a screen in the early part of the day as the sun hits it and is quite intense to the point of being uncomfortable.
My teenage kids enjoyed swimming off the pier across the road and they rented paddle boards too from a place in Prcanj. The water is crystal clear and there are no waves other than when a big boat goes past. However the little shingle beach is not clean. It was totally unsuitable for my 3 and 5 year old with discarded wine bottles and broken glass in places and a bit of rusty metal pipe sticking out of the ground. Its right beside the road too and even though the road is very narrow, beware, the locals do not drive slowly. This is one of the reasons we visited the Kenoba up the road so much. The beach beside that was back off the road and beautifully clean. The food was also very nice and very reasonable compared to Kotor and a very nice change from rip off Dubrovnik prices. It was a lovely spot to relax and watch the cruise liners go in and out to Kotor.
There is a public bus that passes by the house every hour to Kotor. But it was always packed out so we couldn't get on it. Because there were 6 of us, we needed 2 taxis to visit Kotor. There are no 7 seater taxis. It cost roughly €7 each way per car and we arranged them by ringing the owners house manager. Kotor is beautiful and well worth a visit. We visited twice in our 5 days.
We originally planned to stay 7 nights in the Stone House but cut our stay short by 2 days in favour of a couple of nights in Dubrovnik. I was actually quite glad because even though we enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty of our surroundings we did start to feel a little isolated after a few days. It would have been nice to have had a car to explore further afield but even my travel savvy husband said he would not have been brave enough to drive on the extremely narrow coastal roads that you have to share with big coaches and locals who drive too fast and fearlessly.
We tried to arrange a boat trip with the guy who is recommended in the house information pack but he is no longer doing it. He referred me on to another company but in the end we didn't book a trip. The prices were very expensive for 6 of us.
One final thing to note is that in September the sun is gone from Prcanj by 4pm. It slips behind the mountain.
All in all we enjoyed our stay immensely but mostly because the scenery is just so heavenly.

Wow. Thanks for all the detail. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday. Just to pick up on a couple of points. This winter we have installed a brand new air conditioning system. There is a pump in the living room and each bedroom. It means the apartment can be cooled in the summer and warmed in the winter. The bathroom does have a window. It is behind the mirror and always open. Sorry the wifi cut out for 24 hours. Generally it is very reliable. Montenegro is outside the EU and roaming charges do apply. I would always recommend you go to a bar or restaurant to use their wifi and always contact our local team. To be clear. There is no TV. Apologies if our listing indicated there was. I have checked and double checked and believe there is no reference to there being a TV.

As soon as you walk through the door you will feel at home!! The apartment has a feel of luxury and quality from its large solid dining table which became the central hub for laptops, reading and of course eating, two comfortable large sofa's around a huge on coffee table for morning coffee and post dinner drinks. Spacious bedrooms with huge comfy beds and a stunning view over the bay with a mountain backdrop that will take your breath away when you wake up! Great covered terrace with both sea and mountain views with enough seating for all guests to relax in the day and evening. A well stocked local shop a couple of minutes away and resteraunts and bars within a short walk along the waterfront. In a very short time you will feel like a local!! We loved our stay here and will definitely return!!

Gorgeous location, well-equipped and comfortable accommodation.
If you want a place close to Kotor but away from the cruise liner crowds, then I cannot recommend this house highly enough. It is a 10-15 minute drive/taxi (€6-€9) into Kotor so really not very far. After driving around the whole bay we decided we definitely chose the right location. The view from the front of the house is pure bliss, across the water to the mountains. Instructions to find the house were perfect, and it was useful to have a parking spot right in front of the house. The high ceilings give an impression of space as soon as you walk in, and the layout works well, with the two main bedrooms being on opposite sides of the living area. Wi-Fi was excellent, a necessity with a teenager in tow. The kitchen was well equipped and it was great to have a washing machine available. The bedrooms are huge, beds comfortable and storage space plentiful. The walk-in shower was also nice with shelving for toiletries. There is an A/C unit in the living area which cools down the main living area and bedrooms when all internal doors are left open. I loved being able to walk across the road onto the stone jetty and go for a swim in the warm, clear water of the Adriatic. Jadranka, the downstairs neighbour, cooked us some lovely, generously portioned, wholesome meals. We bought a Telenor tourist SIM for our mobile phones as Montenegro is not in the EU even though they use the Euro. For €10, you get 1000GB (yes, really!!) of data for 20 days usage. They're easy to set up and we found them really helpful while out and about as then we were able to communicate with Red Taxi, the local agent and other tourist places via WhatsApp. The 'house book' supplied by the owner was very informative with plenty of recommendations for local places to eat and things to do. We loved Bokeski Gusti restaurant, a 10 min walk north of the house, right on the water, and went there twice. Tanjga BBQ in Kotor was amazing too. All-in-all we had a fantastic week, I still miss that view and will definitely recommend The Stone House to friends. Thanks James and Lily for a fantastic week in your home-away-from-home.

A perfect place to relax !
We adored our stay at the Stone House. It's a fabulous apartment and so well situated. It's ideally equipped for the weather; when you need shade the terrace is perfect and when you want to sunbathe, the jetty is perfect. We loved swimming in the baying watching the world go by. It's a gentle pace of life. We didn't stray too far as we had already travelled further afield in Montenegro. Our hire car stayed outside for the entire week and we used local transport which was very easy. We ate locally and enjoyed one of Ladranka's amazing home cooked meals. James was fantastically organised and a very attentive. The apartment was perfectly equipped and a lovely airy space for a wonderfully relaxing family holiday.

Hidden gem - a wonderful place
The stonehouse is a uniquely situated apartment - the sea is literally just outside the door and can be seen from all the rooms in the house. There are very few tourists and you feel like being just amongst the locals. the water is crystal clear and the view is magnificent. We can warmly recommend the cooking of the downstair neighbour - and challenge you with the 1000 piece puzzle:)
We warmly recommend this place - and thanks to James for very helpful communication with details about car renting, transport etc.

Wonderful!!!
What you see is what you get. The views from this rather large apartment are stunning and it was our daily dose no matter whether it be sunrise, midday or sunset. Location is fantastic with access to the water literally a 1 minute walk across the road. We loved it over our 2 week stay in early July as we got to meet locals on their daily swim and just relax. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, if you can be bothered getting out of the water. It is a pebble beach, so do come prepared with water shoes. The water was a perfect temperature. Kotor is approximately 4kms and a cheap taxi ride away. Porto Montenegro and Tivat is a little further away but worth visiting. we loved all of it. We used the local bus to all of these towns, all you need is EUR1 - unbelievably cheap. Our host provided us with a lot of information to make our stay very memorable. I suggest you make as much use of it as suggested by him, restaurants, Jadranka and her family who are amazing. Her home cooking is superb and perfect for those nights when you simply want to lounge outside and enjoy the breeze. There is plenty to do in Montenegro, boating, road trips, hiking and so much more. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all that made our much needed vacation, a most memorable one.

New favourite holiday destination
This was our first visit to Montenegro - and we were not disappointed. Whilst we knew we were in for something special from the photos on the web site, the reality is something else. This location is totally stunning - the sky really is that blue, the sea really is that clear, the mountains are really that high. A view to die for. And then the best thing is this view is right outside the window of the Stone House. It's a lovely apartment, bright, light, clean and airy, well furnished and with all the facilities you could need. We especially loved the terrace, best place for a lazy morning coffee and a welcome evening drink - and a brilliant place to watch the night sky. Great location - a selection of decent bars and restaurants, mini markets and an excellent bakery all within a few minutes walk. Kotor Old Town is a 15 minute drive away - absolutely worth exploring - if sometimes a little crowded. Worth driving to Lovcen National Park - fun to be had in the Adventure Park, nice little cafe and several degrees cooler if the Prcanj heat gets too much. We loved the Stone House and we loved Montenegro - would have loved to stay longer and we will definitely be back.

The sea is right in front of the apartment. There is a punta (jetty) to relax and swim from. There is also a safe, gently sloping beach in front of the apartment. With hillside walks, ruined churches on the mountainside and the clean sea right in front of the apartment, the Stone House - 165 Prcanj is the perfect holiday destination for friends and families of all ages. We enjoy friendly, helpful neighbours, lots of excellent value restaurants which specialise in local cuisine. The Market Dado convenience store is 50 meters from the apartment.
