Thanks to Andrew and Michelle and their crowd. It would appear that the only reason this review didn't join the rest of the "five star" ratings was the problem with the exchange rate between US Dollars and British Pounds. At the time they made their...More

About the neighbourhood
The immediate area is surrounded by Bali's iconic rice fields, accessed by walking paths, and is thus far from the noise of traffic or commercial activity. There are several excellent family-run restaurants within easy walking distance of the estate, which boasts its own, privately leased and built, walking 'causeway' through the fields for convenient access to them, and to both the local market and nearby transportation, by which central Ubud is only minutes away.
Whether your goal is a quiet day of relaxation at the villa by the pool's unique natural setting or participation in Ubud's many cultural offerings or excellent dining venues, this is the ideal location.
Getting around
AROUND THE AREA: This property is within easy walking distance of the local full-purpose market, the offerings of the nearby village, many extraordinary local eateries, and the city of Ubud itself. In addition, the motorbike access pathway ENDS of the property gates, so rental motorbikes can be parked there yet there is no traffic noise at all.
AROUND THE ISLAND: Ubud is the perfect base for exploring all of Bali. Our house manager/driver can provide transportation (cost not included) or local 'transport' is available just a short stroll away on the Ubud main roadway. Nothing on the island is more than a three-hour drive, and most points of interest (all except the extreme northwest tip of the island) are comfortable day-trips.

Car not needed
How to get there
We highly recommend that our property manager/licensed tourist driver meet you at the airport in Denpasar or wherever in Bali you may already be. This service is included in most rentals of one week or longer. He will transport you to Ubud (a drive of 1-1/2 hours), and see you and your belongings to the property.
The property was selected for its quiet and seclusion; thus, it is not located on any roadway. A motorbike pathway ENDS at the property gates, so there is absolutely no sound of traffic. Automobile parking is available in two directions: on the main Ubud road, about a 3-1/2 minute walk, and the village of Penestanan, about a five minute walk.
