Shoubuan Machiya Residence Inn

this was our first time to choose staying in a Japanese style house. Surprisingly, it was a very pleasant experience. The house is well-equipped but it was a bit cold even with all the heaters on.

-----ACCESS ----- The accommodation facility is located a 9 minute walk from the Shijo-Karasuma Station, Kyoto's busy city centre, and a 10-minute walk from Higashi Hongan-ji Temple. It is also located in a convenient spot with easy access the main Kyoto Station, sightseeing areas such as Gion and Kawaramachi, and Nijo Castle. For dining out, Nishiki-Market, a long shopping street lined with restaurants and markets, is within walking distance. In addition, located behind Shoubu-an is another machiya, Suo-an. For larger groups of guests, we recommend reserving both properties where up to 14 people are able to stay when both machiya are combined.
