About the neighbourhood
Mowbray is a very leafy, safe and secure neighbourhood. As it is so close to the University of Cape Town (UCT) and three hospitals (Groote Schuur, Red Cross Memorial Children's and Mowbray Maternity), the area is mostly settled by academics and medical staff. There are also a number of student residences around. There are lots of people walking around, to restaurants and shops, etc. And there are very nice walking and cycling tracks laid out along the Liesbeek River and on Rondebosch Common.
