Perfect Cape Town stay!
What a wonderful stay! We couldn't recommend staying at LeBonheur enough. Athol and Tamara were first class hosts, always on hand with local recommendations - Hout Bay Market on a Friday evening, The Beer House on Long Street, and the trail routes up to Table Mountain that can be reached on foot from the villa. Constantia is a beautiful suburb, within easy reach of every area of Cape Town, and very safe and quiet. The villa itself is well equipped, spacious and the views from the roof terrace that overlook Table Mountain spectacular. The pool and lush tropical garden was also another highlight. We'll definitely be staying again! Thanks Athol and Tamara :)

Our 5 star Villa with 6 bedrooms can sleep 12 guests comfortable with 3 Patio's as well as our Upstairs Sundowner Patio with amasing Views of the Backdrop of table Mountain. Our Solar heated Pool & Solar heated Jacuzzi is always popular with Guests with Barbeque facilities secure Parking centrally located from the Airport The waterfront Table Mountain Boulders Penguin Beach on your way to Cape Point & close to most of the Popular beaches in & around Cape Town, Surrounded by 12 Top wine Estates most of them have restaurant & 2.5 km from Constantia Valley Shopping Centre for your daily needs.Depending on the weather we advise guests on the best things to do daily if required. We have a lot of repeat business and have being running for over 17 years making your holiday one to remember for years to come. When in Cape Town let us spoil you & your family & friends.

Great Location, Stunning Views, Fantastic Host
We had a great stay at LeBonheur over Christmas and New Year.
Our daughter was married at Steenberg and both sides of the family shared the main house.
It was great to have the maid service particularly on the day of the wedding with 6 shirts to iron!
We had booked the house a full three years in advance and Athol and Tamara had done everything possible to help us source suppliers and generally put our minds at ease.
At the last minute some friends had issues with their booked accommodation in Hout Bay and Athol and Tamara pulled out all the stops to assist and let them move into Lemon cottage at very short notice.
The house itself is in a stunning setting, the views from the top terrace are very special indeed. Although the pool and hot tub are shared with the other cottages, this was not an issue for us. There are eight padded sun loungers and plenty of other lounging chairs.
The grounds are perfect for a family BBQ (Braai!) and the prices of meat etc in the supermarket are very reasonable.
Jacko the parrot provided plenty of entertainment to us all and Tamara’s dog Stretch also visited to play around the pool.
We found the location to be very convenient, although you do need to drive to get anywhere, there are plentiful restaurants and a shopping centre within 10 minutes. The Waterfront, Hout Bay and Newlands are all an easy 20-25 minute drive. Then of course it is in the middle of the Constantia wine route – it would be rude not to.

After all the holidays and the family celebrations, you must be happy to be back home and settling back into normality so to speak. It was a pleasure, to host you and your extended family for such an auspicious occasion. Having the Villa serviced regularly for such a large group is beneficial to all as you are on vacation and the last thing on one's mind should be to clean up behind you. Its a time for rest and relaxation. We do what we can to 'iron out the creases' (no pun intended) to make your holiday experience as seamless as possible. Outstanding Customer service excellence is key, we bridge the gap as and where it is needed, be it assisting with transport, catering needs or confirming memorable tour experiences, it all ties up a perfect package with a pretty bow. The estate lends itself to a relaxed family atmosphere where everyone can enjoy the swimming pool and Al fresco dining & BBQ (Braai) during the Summer months. We are a short drive, but a picturesque and scenic one at that, to all attractions, restaurants, beaches and the main motorway which allows direct access into the Cape Town City Bowl. The Constantia Wine Route on our door step proves fruitful for those who have developed a taste for fine South African Wine in our region. We find that our guests love Jacko's (our African Grey) jolly banter as well as Stretch's ever present mischievous smile and wagging tail. They are special little characters that add a unique unexpected touch to your memorable holiday experience. We would love to see you come back time and time again.

Beautiful Apartment in scenic Constantia
LeBonheur is in an excellent location. It is near to the highway and scenic routes to the Southern Suburbs and Hout Bay. The area is quiet and restful with parks, walks and river trails in easy access. We wish we had our bikes with us. The apartment is spotless and beautifully decorated, comfortable and spacious. We had access to a solar-heated pool and enjoyed the well-tended gardens, bird-life and beautiful mountain views. We felt secure and well looked after by Athol and Tamara who were superb and friendly hosts. We ended up staying longer as we felt so at home. Highly recommended.

Your review summed up LeBonheur Lavender Cottage beautifully. Ideal for a small family with two bedrooms en-suite and a spacious comfortable open plan kitchen, dining and living area opening up onto a private terrace.
We are a short walking distance from the Bel Ombre Meadow which is a greenbelt close to LeBonheur, popular for walking dogs, mountain biking trails or taking leisurely strolls under a blanket of trees at the foot of the Constantiaberg mountains behind Table Mountain. On your next trip, we suggest you do bring your bikes along.

Great location with beautiful views
We were a big group and rented out most of the units. It worked well and was a very sociable setting for a family event. It was an excellent base and Tamara and Athol were great hosts. We hope to be back soon as we had an amazing break.

It was a pleasure hosting you and your extended party Helena. Co-ordinating a vacation with a large group can prove to be tricky, but you were on top of everything, it was a delight to assist you with the little details like restaurant reservations and the like. Coming together for a large Family event, was an opportunity for all to relax in a home from home environment as well as take in the sites and popular restaurants in and around Constantia. Lovely, Comfortable, Restful and wonderful hospitality
Athol and Tammy accommodated me at very short notice and in the middle of winter when they weren't really open - their hospitality and helpfulness was greatly appreciated. I had a wonderfully nurturing two days there - amidst rainstorms - but was kept warm and snug in a lovely comfortable cottage that contained everything I needed. Thank you both again for a great time and your warm welcome. I can highly recommend this lovely abode!

Amazing
We started our journey here it was truly amazing.
All our transfers and transportation were arranged when we got to the villa we were blown away by its charm and beauty the location is perfect nestled into the foot of table mountain the view and hospitality is second to none.

As you well know, the Villa is lovely and spacious, very fitting for a large family gathering with spacious bedrooms and comfortable entertainment areas around the pool area.
Staying a little longer is advised so you all will have an opportunity to experience Cape Town in all her splendour, at a leisurely pace.

A luxurious home away from home
It was the perfect place for our family to stay in Cape Town. Very clean and very central to the shops and to explore the beautiful City attractions.

We are centrally situated to most of the popular tourist attractions in & around Cape Town 25 Minutes from Cape Town International Airport & 25 Minutes to the Popular waterfront & the Famous Table Mountain and about 20 minutes to most of the popular Beaches in & around Cape Town including the Popular Boulders Penguin Beach in Simonstown on you way to Cape Point We had 12 of the Top Famous Constantia Wine farms within 5-10 minutes as we are situated in the Constantia Valley with Spectacular Views of the backdrop of Table Mountain with popular Hiking & Bike Trails as well as Horse Riding trials. 4 of the popular Rated Golf courses & 2.5 km from the Constantia Shopping Centre for all you daily needs as well as top Restaurants in the area.
The Villa consists of 6 Double Bedrooms including the Guest suite which comfortably sleeps 12 Guests well spread out so you don't feel on top of one another in this spacious LeBonheur.
With 3 Covered Sundrenched patios enclosed with State of the art Stacking doors ideal for Summer & Winter Destinations with a Large Enclosed French Enclosed Fire Place in the Lounge. We have a popular Top Sundowner patio overlooking back drop or Table Mountain & The Famous Kirsenbosch Botanical Gardens and views as far as Stennenbosch or Toward Hout Bay. Our Large Solar Heated Pool & Solar Heated jacuzzi are popular with our guests to swim or just lie around the pool on our recliners overlooking our manicured Garden. Wonderful property
We had a wonderful stay at LeBonheur in Constantia Cape Town.
Athol and his manager were so friendly and accommodating in hosting us!
We had lovely memories with Jacko the African gray
Also nice lovely solar heated pool won’t forget that which was everyone’s favorite .
In the end highly recommended for who wants a nice and relax holiday in mother city Cape Town
Will definitely go back .

We know we have won the hearts of our guests when they leave us a five-star review, yet there is always room for improvement, and we like to encourage continued feedback.When you return on your next vacation, you will see some changes. Our quirky African Grey parrot is always on top form on the entertainment front and proves a hit with his 'extended' visiting family. Rain or shine, Le Bonheur offers cosy nights in, in front of the fireplace, which you experienced when the heavens opened with the much needed rains Cape Town has been praying for. Also, you lapped up the sun, lounging around the solar heated pool and jacuzzi when the sunshine peeped through the clouds. So glad you had a relaxing, fun-filled holiday, creating many a memorable moment.

Lovely villa but not private
This is a large beautiful villa with everything you could want for a self catering stay in peaceful area. BedRooms were large and very comfortable and plenty of them even if our party did not use them all. The downside to this beautiful villa is that it is not totally private as some of the online sites would lead you to believe. The pool and Jacuzzi and garden is not just for the villa but can be used by other guests staying at the separate cottages beside the villa and can be quite intrusive if you are sitting in your villa with strangers outside or up on top of the roof terrace right outside what you thought was your private space. The owner Athol is very friendly and helpful but again always on site so you never totally feel you have the villa to yourself. jacko the parrot also resides in the villa so you have to get used to that too. So if your are looking for peace and quiet and privacy this is not the place for you but if you don't mind mixing with strangers outside your doors then it's a great villa. Wifi was very intermittent around the villa and slow. The jacuzzi was way too hot for us to use. I think it would be better with few boundaries set for guest at the villa and then the separate cottages.

Thank you for your review we value all our reviews & acknowledge what you say & strive to improve most if not all of your problems you may have had & will also respond to them Individually.Please note we have being running LeBonheur Guest House & Cottages for 14 years successfully & are still striving for perfection.
Firstly as can be seen on Tripadvisor in the last 3 years we have had 18 5 Star reviews & only TWO 3 Star reviews.
This tells me we are doing things well yet although I know you can please everyone we will carry on striving till we get 100% success.
The 5 Star Villa had 6 Double bedrooms & very comfortably as they said sleep 12.
Please note there were only 5 in there group 4 Ladies & a gentleman.
Around the Solar Heated Pool we have always had % comfortable recliners which is more than ample for all our guests at LeBonheur including the cottages.
Please note the cottages each have 2 Recliners.
We advertise in our response to our enquiries that only the Large 11 X 5 Solar Heated pool as well as the Jacuzzi & Top Sundowner Patio with views of the Backdrop of Table Mountain are communal. The Large Front Garden & Manicured Garden are for the Main Villa & Guest Suite Only.
98 % of guests will only use the Solar Heated Pool Very seldom do the guests from the Cottages use the Jacuzzi or Top Sundowner Patio.
The Solar Heated Pool is on the West Side of the property mostly away from the main House. The Main House & Guest Suite have their own entrance in the front of the property.
The Cottages each have their own entrances & Patio's with BBQ facilities at each Cottage therefore we have pleased 18 out of 20 guests in the last 3 years.
For the 1st Time in 14 years the 5 guests spent most of their 5 day stay Lying on the front Lawn Suntanning which is exclusive to the main Villa & Guest Suite so they used up all 5 of the recliners that are always available.
We had a lovely couple staying in Lime Cottage with a Four year old son who spent an hour in the morning & sometimes an hour in the afternoon teaching their lovely well behaved son how to swim which has being a success story for many of our guests coming from the Cooler Northern Hemishphere having the opportunity to teach their young children how to swim I can't end to tell you how many parents over the years have memories of their children learning to swim in a warm pool & build up confidence. To resolve the issue of the shortage of 2 recliners we just moved the 2 recliners from Lime cottage to The Shallow end of the Pool which is far away from the Front Garden.
Just Getting back to Jacko our Friendly & entertaining African Grey who loves everybody.
I find it very strange with the guests comment you just had to get used to Him. The 4 Ladies loved him & would Tickle & Scratch him & became very attached with him that they joked about taking him home with them.
Just for the record we have only had 2 lots of Guests that did not like Jacko out of over 200 guests. We do offer the option to guests to move him down into my 2 Bedroom Cottage. Please note that the other 3 Star Review was from one of those two 3 Star reviews but there child had an allergy but most people love animals.
Getting onto the part of the review were they said that Athol the Owner was very friendly & Helpful yes when guests arrive one has to show them how all the things work Glass Sliding Doors Remotes Automatic Gates beams TV DSTV & Wi-Fi. I was called on at least 2 occasions to put up the Umbrellas & on the one occasion where they said Poor Wi-Fi they were note able to get a Netflix Movie up & Running on our New 65 ins TV only for me to discover that they had unplugged one of the Wi-Fi Extenders once that was sorted they were as happy as Larry withe the Large TV as were as Fibre Optic fast Internet.
Yes we are a Green energy Waterwise Guest House With use of almost everything on Solar Power why Not we have the Sun in South Africa so as with the Pool we have 11 Solar Panels & 4 for the jacuzzi that on warm days we switch on the Jacuzzi pump on from 9am- 3pm & it normally heats up the Jacuzzi with Sun Energy to around 40c
But over their stay we had unusually hot days which they Loved the South African Sun so they could have just taken the Solar Cover or Pool Cover off or asked me to switch off the Jacuzzi pump it is as easy as that.In Cape Town with the Strict Water restrictions it is compulsory for every house with a pool & jacuzzi to have covers to stop evaporation from the Sun & Wind. We have now put up Signs in BOLD LETTERS around the Pool to cover up when not in use.
We are fortunate enough to have thought ahead of the Water Crisis in Cape Town to have plumbed our Tested Borehole into the Villa & Cottages so we will still have water if Cape Town runs out of Water in the next 100 days properly tested with Filters & UV light safe to even drink.
One of the 5 guests had some of his friends one afternoon come around for a swim as their guest house in Simonstown did not have water in the pool. Yes many guest houses & Hotels where you share a Pool with all the Guests in the Hotel have closed their pools due to the shortage of Water in Cape Town. Yes we also advise our guests about the strict water restrictions now Schedule 6B to use water sparingly.
We at Lebonheur last year installed 36 Solar panels with 2 X 10 KW Hybrid inverters to virtually get of the Grid & in case of a Blackout supply lighting etc to our guests. yes we are continually striving to make our Guest House the Top Guest House in The Western Cape & Constantia Valley & will move Recliners when need be & implement some basic rules thank you for that advice & we hope that we can assist you with 5 Star accommodation in the future. On a final note when the guests book accommodation we do remind them all that the Pool & Jacuzzi are communal & never ever really have had any problems as you see with 98% positive 5 Star Reviews & even if guests during their stay give us positive feedback which we encourage we get stuck into it & improve or Fix.

Fantastic Stay - Highly Recommended
We had a wonderful stay at the Villa at Le Bonheur. The unit was well furnished, comfortable and clean. It was everything we were looking for in terms of our needs. The outside pool was fantastic as well. Constantia is such a beautiful suburb to stay in. Thanks to Athol and his team for looking after us. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for another Great Review We at Lebonheur Strive to make Lebonheur the Top Guest House in the Constantia valley with our well trained staff & continual maintainance & Upgrades with the Water Crisis in Cape Town we have connected Our Borehole to The Villa with Correct Filters & keep the PH balanced at all times. We have also recently installed 36 Solar electric Panels with 2X 10 KW Hybrid Inverters with battery back up virtually taking us off the Grid.
With Our 6 Double bedrooms with Comfortable beds & sleeping 12 ideal for Larger or Smaller Families Summer & Winter with our Large Solar heated Pool & Solar Heated Jacuzzi with large Manicured Garden with our enclosed Patio's & Top Sundowner Patio with 360 degree views of the Constantia valley & Backdrop of Table Mountain centrally situated close to most of the Popular tourist spots in & around Cape Town 20 Minutes to the Airport Waterfront ,Table Mountain most of the Popular beaches Boulders Beach in Simonstown on your way to Cape Point.Our Staff with give you weather updates & guide you if required on activities for the day with the changing weather patterns we some times experience on Cape Town. We do ask to use Water sparingly due to the Present Water Crisis bit we have a good strong borehole that will make sure that you will have a high Standard of Running Water for your future Holiday to Cape Town while staying at Lebonheur.
