Mallard is a fully-accessible luxury, lakeside lodge with magnificent views across our coarse fishing lake to the Devon countryside beyond. Mallard has a bright and airy loft-style living area with wide patio doors to a private terrace overlooking the lake. There is a sofa bed in the lounge which will accommodate 1 adult or 2 children under 12 years. There is an HDTV with built in DVD/CD in the lounge and a second TV in the master bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with an oven & hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher. There is a master bedroom with a luxury rosewood sleigh bed, fitted double wardrobe, dressing chest and bedside cabinets. The second bedroom has twin full-sized singles and there is a fully accessible wet room with a power shower. All beds are made with Egyptian cotton linen.

Blagdon Farm is a small family-owned business where guests are welcomed with a locally-sourced complimentary Devon cream tea. We will welcome you and show you to your lodge and are happy to answer any questions and deal with any issues during your stay. There is tourist information (including money-off vouchers) available in the vestibule of the swimming pool.

The lodge was nice although the wifi was very temperamental and mostly non existent. The shower door became very annoying as a noisy sliding door even if it did make access easy with the wheelchair. The views of the lake were superb and in the...More

Additional Rate and Availability Information
Prices are based on 4 people sharing. Additional persons over 12 are charged at £60 per person per week or £10 per night for short breaks.
3 night weekend breaks and 4 night weekday breaks are charged at 70% of the applicable weekly rates. Weekend breaks run from Friday with departures on Monday morning, and weekday short breaks run from Monday afternoon with departures on Friday morning.

Attractions within a 25 mile radius include: North Devon coast including Bude, Widemouth Bay, Saunton Sands and Westward Ho!; North Cornwall coast including Padstow and Port Isaac; The magnificent moors of Dartmoor to the East, Exmoor to the North and Bodmin Moor to the West; Lundy Island (day trips by boat from Bideford available in season), Roadford Reservoir and Tamar Lakes, walk, wheel or cycle around the lake, or enjoy a range of watersports including windsurfing, sailing, kayacking and fishing; Launceston, ancient stannery town and capital of Cornwall; Holsworthy, bustling market town with charming square and market every Wednesday; Clovelly, privately owned ancient port with it's reknown cobbled high street (an entrance fee applies).
Getting around
The lodge is located in rural Devon and is the perfect place to have a peaceful and restful holiday. The nearest train station is Okehampton (about 17 miles to the South East) and buses do run to Holsworthy and Launceston, but essentially, you will need a car to get about, although there are local taxis and car hire companies - both are reasonably priced. Most supermarkets are happy to deliver to our lodges, some guests order their food to arrive on the day they arrive and we are happy to supervise delivery as long as we are aware in advance and it comes after Midday.

From Exeter take the A30 towards Bodmin. Take the Launceston exit and follow the signs for the A388 towards Holsworthy. After passing through Launceston, Dutson, St. Giles on the Heath and Chapman's Well go past the Ashwater turning and take the next right turn which is signposted to Blagdon Manor and Blagdon Farm. Take the next right turn which is also signposted to Blagdon Manor. Just before the Blagdon Manor entrance turn right into Blagdon Farm.
