The cottage has real character and was very cosy (we visited at the beginning of January). The setting is beautiful and great for water loving golden retrievers! The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Very happy to recommend this cottage and location.

About the neighbourhood
Withypool is a quiet unspoilt village situated in a shallow part of the Barle valley in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. The village has a remote, upland character and is surrounded by open moorland, much of which is common land. Most of the village lies on the north side of the river and follows the narrow roads along the valley contours. The traditional buildings in the settlement generally consist of lime washed rendered stonewalls with slate roofs. Getting around
Being a very remote village, Withypool does not have any public transport. But you are in the heart of Exmoor, so there are lots of walks right on your door step.
