Lovely house, in easy walking distance of the centre of Kelso and a park which the kids loved. The house is really nicely decorated and has everything you need The housekeeper is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Well behaved dogs are welcome although we stipulate that they must stay in the back courtyard and garden. For an extra charge a part time housekeeper can come into Claremont most days to generally tidy up and clean . She is also responsible for the laundry and replacing bedding and towels etc at changeover. Linen, towels etc. are all provided and beds are made up before arrival.

Kelso lies at the meeting point of the Tweed and Teviot rivers and is one of the most attractive and
unspoiled towns in the Borders. Notable features are the 12th Century Abbey, the Flemish style cobbled
square, Floors Castle and the old bridge across the Tweed. The town has good sporting facilities and
many quality shops.

The area has much to offer those interested in country pursuits with fishing on the
Tweed and is an increasingly sought after location within the Borders. Located just over the Border in Scotland, Kelso is 1 hours drive from the A1 north of Newcastle and South West of Berwick upon Tweed. Many east coasts trains stop at Berwick station which is 30 minutes by road (taxi or hire car) from Kelso. It is also approximately 1 hour by road from Edinburgh airport.

Kelso is located approximately 1 hours drive from Newcastle, Glasgow & Edinburgh in the heart of the Scottish Borders. It is also only 30 minutes by taxi from Berwick station on the main East Coast railine. There is also an excellent bus service between Berwick Railway Station and Kelso (no 67) which takes about 55 minutes. It is an ideal place to use as a base for exploring the Borders, the Berwickshire Coast and North Northumberland.
