Interaction with guests
When choosing what to build, my husband and I very much wanted to provide a space for a relaxing and enjoyable stay taking in the beautiful scenery which makes up Galloway. My husband and I farm Blackface sheep and Aberdeen Angus cross cattle on this farm and love the area. We never tire of enjoying the scenery and all it's attractions. The wildlife includes red squirrels, deer and more recently we have some magnificent kites with their graceful flight and distinctive forked tail.

About the neighbourhood
Although situated in a rural location it does not take long to get about with the A75 road nearby. There is so much to do and see so I'll try and give a snapshot! Within walking distance is a fantastic Smokery which sells delicious smoked products - fish, cheese, eggs and chicken. I highly recommend the smoked salmon! Next door they run a restaurant using a lot of their products. Why not take a walk down to the shore for some fresh air and see the Oyster Catchers and the Cormorants. It is possible to cycle to Kirroughtree without going directly onto the A75 - (it's about 8 miles), which is a walking, cycling and mountain biking centre. It's also possible to hire bikes there and, having worked up an appetite, there is also a cafe!
How to get there
Exit the M74 just at Moffat exit and follow the A75 westwards past Dumfries, Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet. Approximately 8 miles from Gatehouse of Fleet you will pass Carsluith Castle and tea rooms on the left. Prepare to turn right within half a mile to Carsluith village. In half a mile and look for a track on the right with a sign for ‘Kirkbride’, turn right here and follow the sign for 'The Roundhouse'
