The double bedroom includes a fitted wardrobe with plenty of storage space and the cosy double bed is finished with Egyptian cotton bedding.
Our bathroom comes with an over bath shower and luxury wooden bath rack so you can enjoy long bubbly soaks.

A warm welcome awaited us at this lovely little cottage on the banks of the river Cree - freshly brewed coffee, a plate of scones & cakes, strawberries and loaf of bread, as well as a vase of flowers. The cottage was well equipped for self catering and even had a small supply of essentials such as cooking oil.
Newton Stewart proved to be an excellent centre from which to explore Dumfries & Galloway, as well as providing local walks, shops, supermarkets and a pub with good food all within easy walking distance.
The bistro table outside the cottage was a little suntrap in the evenings, perfect for al fresco dining surrounded by tubs of flowers.
Brendan & Rhona were great hosts - living next door so handy for advice if needed but never obtrusive.

Perfect cottage for 2 people.
The location in the south west of Scotland is very quiet but within walking distance of shops in Newton Stewart. There are many cycling and walking possibilities, both in the hills and on the coast.For touring around by car the roads are never busy. Logan Botanic Gardens are worth a visit, as is Glen Trool in the Galloway Forest Park. The owners live beside the cottage and are a very friendly couple who are always to hand if required.

Charming cottage
Our stay in Stone Cottage was just delightful. It was an excellent base for non car drivers to take in the many delights of Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage is cosy with a lovely garden where you can sit outside and listen to the birds sing. Our hosts were very welcoming and we enjoyed the baked delights we received upon arrival
The cottage has a lovely comfy bed and everything you need. We'll be back!

Wonderful Galloway Holiday Cottage
This was our first stay at Stone Cottage and we were very impressed with the accommodation. On arrival we were met with the smell of fresh ground coffee, homemade bread, scones and apple slices, fresh orange juice, milk and butter. The cottage is to a high standard, lovely and clean, plenty of hot water, fresh towels & bedding with a very comfortable bed. There is a TV with freeview, DVD player, CD/Radio and a decent WiFi signal. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering.
The cottage is located on a quiet road on the outskirts of town (5 mins to town centre). Ideal for walks and cycling, Kirroughtree mountain bike centre only a couple of miles away (lockable bike shed at the cottage).
Most of the sites of interest in Galloway can easily be reached by car within half an hour which we found to be a great bonus. Owners very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this cottage. Thank you Brendan & Rhona for a wonderful holiday.

An excellent base to tour Galloway from for 2 people
This one bedroom cottage is ideal as a base for a couple to tour the Galloway area. The cottage is well appointed and we were welcomed with a welcome pack of butter , milk, fresh coffee, orange juice, scone & cake. Would recommend this cottage with a 10 minute walk to Newton Stewart High Street .

Delightful, welcoming little cottage
Looking for a short break we discovered this little gem. We arrived to find coffee brewing with delicious scones and cake and flowers on the table - a lovely welcome. Then we discovered fresh orange juice, butter and milk in the fridge - Rhona surely thinks of everything for her guest's comfort! Everywhere was sparkling clean with comfortable chairs and sofa. The bedroom was very pretty and welcoming and we discovered the bed was very comfortable - a bonus we don't always find! For your entertainment, the cottage had a good selection of books and DVDs, with Sky TV. Although Wifi is available, unfortunately we found that this was very patchy; it wasnt an issue for us, we were glad of the excuse! All in all a delightful little cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Short break
Lovely quaint cottage ideal place for visiting friends and family ,right price for short break it was our 3rd time here and on arrival there was lots treats (scones French fancies) and the smell of coffee it was like home from home . Would recommend the walk round brontes loch amazing views .
